Specifics

This is a puzzle mind game style competition in the style of Clue. This will be a regular occurance within the house hopefully. This first one is really simple but the puzzles over time will change in difficulty and final requirements (including you writing a short fiction on the investigation).

This time though, you only have to tell me who did it, why you think they did it, and how you know they did it. A simple name is not acceptable, I need to see the rest to know that you are not just guessing.

This is mainly for Journeyman but all are welcome to play!

Your comlink beeps and you answer it. Xen’mordin’s voice pours out “Hey, we just had a killing, I am transmitting a file to you, look over it and the list of suspects and get back to me with who you think did it.

You bring up the file and look over the facts:

The murdered individual was a Sergeant in the 1st Legion of the Judeccan guard. He was listed as an aide to Colonel Fenderook, the overall commander of the Judeccan guard. The known details were a bit sketchy. It was known that he was stabbed from behind in the kidney, a move that often proves so painful it prevents people from crying out. Then his throat was slashed from left to right with the cut indicating it was also from behind. It was an even cut with no slant. The Aide was Five foot nine inches tall. There is also a boot print from whoever moved the body out of the barracks building, it appears to be a standard issue boot print.

Though the barracks is fairly large it is a long weekend and many troopers have left for liberty. The Sergeant was not well liked and is not known to hang out with anyone on a regular basis, but rather tends to show up at bars that are commonly frequented by troopers. He was last seen leaving his office for the barracks building and griping about having to file paperwork all the time and how it was going to eat into his liberty time. The body was discovered within minutes of being killed and drug outside and the building was immediately locked down.

Eight suspects are listed.

Sergeant Perek who is up as a replacement for the position. Sergeant Perek is Five Foot eleven inches tall, left handed, and wears standard issue boots. Perek was eating chow in the small chow hall in the building when arrested.

Sergeant Touli was turned down for the aide’s position. Touli is Five foot four, right handed, and wears standard issue boots. Touli was asleep in his rack when arrested Private Kasto was known to get into with the Sergeants, and has a violent disposition. He is Five foot Nine, right handed, but wears a non-standard boot due to an ankle problem. Kasto was in the gym when arrested

Corporal Yan faced off twice in boxing matches for the Guard title and was defeated twice by the dead aide. He is Five foot six, wears a standard boot, and is ambidextrous. He was present in the Barracks Rec Room when arrested.

Corporal Telix had been written up three times while working in the Colonel’s office before being demoted and kicked back to the 3rd legion. Corporal Telix is five eight, right handed, and normally wears standard boots but currently is wearing light shoes due to a training accident. He was in the barracks showers when arrested.

Lietenant Gorglok just separated from his wife and has been seen arguing with the aide. He is Five foot ten, right handed, and wears a standard issue boot. He was in the admin office at the barracks as the Officer of the Watch.

Sergeant Hesteus had been known to butt heads with the Aide, and worked in the same office. He was Six foot Three, right handed, and wears standard boots. Hesteus is known for his knife fighting competitions. He was sitting on the rear fire escape steps smoking what is believed to be an illicit substance

Yolani Tou’lee is a Twi’lek girl who comes and helps clean up the common areas of the barracks. She is Five foot nine, right handed, and wears soft bantha hide boots. It is a known fact the Aide had several pictures of various twi’lek’s in compromising positions on his datacomp. She also competes in local martial arts competitions. She was arrested in the supply closet

You know that:

the killer is wearing standard issue boots

all the suspects were arrested immediately and were near the location of the body dump outside the barracks building

all suspects have knife training and hand to hand training

if the cut was from left to right and from behind then the killer had to be right handed

for the cut to have no slant the killer could be no more than two inches shorter or four inches taller than the victim
