Specifics

Journeys to the past can fracture even the strongest of wills. Marick Arconae has confronted his past, and needed a reminder of who he truly was. It came in the form of the hidden blade on his past- representing his struggle and life to become a weapon for Clan Arcona. He is, at his core, an assassin and by taking life he can grant freedom to others. To him, his Hidden Blade serves as a Totem.

A Totem, then, is an item or trinket that helps remind an individual of who they are and where they came from. Totems are items specifically created with a certain weight in mind These can be anything small and simple as a spinning top, to a

Maaks’ totem object comes as a pair of Krayt Dragon Pearls. They were gifted to him by his master, Sashar Erinos Arconae, in their raw form upon his knighthood. They were lopsided and their colours dull, so Maaks was given the task to perfect them and form them into spheres that could be placed within his eye sockets. Due to his unsurity with the task, his master took one pearl and worked on it, his imprint with the Force entwined with every action taken to fashion it into a smooth, perfect sphere. Maaks watched as something rough, formed in the belly of a great beast, could become beautiful with effort. It taught him a great lesson and he took on the project with a great seriousness. The pearls soon became a pair and as he looked at them for the first time together, he thought he felt their true meaning. He was born without eyes and had felt blind to so many things but with the eyes of his masters and his own creation, anything was possible.

Now, they remind him of the time he was without eyes, kept in the dark, unable to see the path laid out in front of him past Alpheridies. But it also reminds him to look out into the Galaxy that holds so much potential, with eyes of his own making.

Nath's totem is a traditional Iridonian cremation anklet, she carries it with her but does not wear it as it is decorative in nature, and it is not designed to be worn more than once.

There is symbology with the beads chosen, the small clear focal beads on each end represent birth and death. Whilst the two strands of beads also have their own separate meanings.

The blue and white strand represent the individual's life whilst the clear strand of beads symbolises the Force and its omnipresence with life, hence the coiling of the two.

At the centre are three focal beads, the smaller two of the trio are the light and dark sides of the Force whilst the large focal bead in between represents the individual's soul.

Nath picked this particular bead because she is aware that she carries not only her own soul but that of her mother's also, the dark layer underneath is Jith's presence whilst the clear layer is Nath's own soul, which she has chosen to give a visual representation to her affinity to the dark side by marring the one side of the bead.

On the whole Nath is not particularly sentimental when it comes to her heritage, her time on Iridonia hardened her to the facts of life, death was a daily occurrence from an young age, and though she is not a strict practitioner of her people's faith she has held to this one tradition practised by her Clan. Though it seems dour, she draws her strength from her own existence and this object is a symbol of just that.

Why does it remind your character of who they are and where they come from?

This ring is the only possession Celahir has from his youth, he stole it from his father before he picked the wrong fight and ended up in the dark brotherhood.

It reminds him of his rebellion against authority back when he was young.

Kalon's Beskad;

The Beskad was traditionally an ancient sword forged out of Beskar (Mandalorian Iron) by all members in any of Mandalore's Clans.

This particular dagger-styled weapon was created by Kalon in 26 ABY upon his acceptance as a full warrior of Clan Beviin. Due to Beskar shortages on the planet which ended only after more deposits were found after the Yuuzhan Vong conflicts, he made the weapon out of the weaker yet still strong durasteel alternative.

The Beskad acted as Kalon's primary melee weapon throughout countless battles, all the way up until he was gifted a lightsaber upon his ascension to Dark Jedi Knight in 35 ABY.

Since this time, he has always carried it with him, held in a leather sheath on his belt. He looks at it as a symbol and a reminder of his origins and his status of being a son of Mandalore despite moving to a different Clan with different ideals.

Although it had been replaced by his much more advanced lightsaber and has now come to be considered a trinket more than a proper weapon, it is not uncommon for the Obelisk to resort to using it when he needs two blades or he loses his saber.

The item is Andrelious' dog tag from his days as a pilot in the Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps.

The writing reads: EH-TC 7078. A.J. Inahj.

It reminds Andrelious of his career as an Imperial pilot and the life that he was forced to leave behind many years ago. He keeps it with him both to remember the good times, but to also remind himself that he was once betrayed and would never again trust himself to the wills of a slimy Admiralty.
