It’s a warm night on the planet of Cathar and the stars glitter in the sky, filling the city with an incredible light. You are standing on your balcony, bare chested and looking up in amazement that you have always respected the sights from your home. Your partner is putting the children in bed and she calls you over, wearing the most sensual and elegant gown she has. The dressing curves in all the right places and as she sways her body, the loose fabric joins her motion as if begging you to unfasten it. In the heat of the moment you are disturbed by a swooping sound coming above, you turn your head in wonder and notice over fifty different sized fighter ships dashing in and out of the city’s orbit. You first hear the screams of women running from their homes, then the shouting of the authorities, and then the explosions echo throughout the peaceful city. One by one explosions are followed by more swooping ships and more Cathar running in panic and fear, destitute in their efforts to escape the onslaught. You turn to head back inside to your home but as you do three bulky soldiers kick the door in and fire at your family, turning them into dust. You take this small chance to jump out your second story window and into the bush below.
What you have read above is the starting scene of what many Cathar families went through during the Mandalorian Wars between 3976 BBY and 3960 BBY. These sixteen years were the most brutal times for the Galactic Republic as the onslaught killed more Republic population than they could count. In your own words, we would like you to place yourself into the boots of a being there. It can be your own character, or one of the Republic, or indeed a Mandalorian the choice is yours. This setting is when Jedi and Sith were bountiful so you could always surprise us. Of course this was also the period that the great lords Revan and Malak first carved their name into history, the story can be from any scene. Did you march down and smash the Republic task force into pieces during the Mandalorian Triumph? Did you bump fists with the Jedi Knight Revan and geared up side by side as he struck down Mandalore the Ultimate? Or did you barely survive the genocide and mass hysteria that enveloped and ruined the Cathar species in the Battle of Cathar?
