Competition: Ode to an Imperial Hero

Finished
Ode to an Imperial Hero

Specifics

Fias Zhan and his Scions have gone to every length to take over the Empire. Not just to destroy Scholae Palatinae, but to bring every civilian under their heel. It is not often the Dark Jedi get to be heroes, but today, with the fate of the Empire in the balance, that is exactly what you had to be. Write a poem detailing the heroic acts you and your fellow Palatinaeans went through to save the Empire.

Platform

Word formats (.doc, .docx, .txt). Anything written in GoogleDocs needs to be exported or pasted into the submission box.

Details

Poem format is open, but must follow some consistent form. No free verse prose. Minimum of 20 written lines. No maximum. Will be graded on following a consistent form, the heroic deeds done, and the realism of said deeds. You don't need to worry about SW-related words, just focus on getting your deeds across and in a well done poetry form.

Final Conflict

Full of pride
And long of stride
Never scared of death
Long as there is breath

Forged in the fires of Hell
Planet upon planet their comrades fell
Crusaders one and all
Each answered the Grand Master’s call.

Dissent all around has been provoked
The embers at home have now been stoked
Flames have set the system to a burn
Upon their triumphant return

With the rulers back in place
The need for action came down from space
Troopers and Dark Jedi alike
Craving for action bursting through a dike

Zhan and his “true” imperials burst onto the scene
Many joined his cause both seen and unseen
Enemy forces all around
Open and hidden risk did both abound

Dante and his mean pulled through
On land they fought and in the air they flew
Against the traitors and rebels they did fight
Anything to win: Scratch and claw and bite

Ice and fire did mix on Caina’s frozen land
Combat was limited to a small band
Subterfuge was the name of the game
Which led to Evant’s great fame.

Risen from the depths of fire
Ptolomea was a battle very dire
Nearly defeated by a great threat
Lucyeth won out and earned the fete.

On the open space of Antenora’s great plain
Many a warrior were nearly driven insane
Over great distances the battles did rage
Imperial forces did well against the enemy sage.

On Judecca, the battle would end
Leaders from each side did send
Everyone who could still walk
All did their duty; none did balk.

Either the Emperor or Zhan would lead
The final conflict’s victor would need
Power gained from their underlings
Within them and what each brings

When the palace fell
They didn’t ring the bell
Fighting hard to reclaim
The enemy they did maim

Riding or matching into battle
Roasting them as if in a kettle
Defeat put an end to Zhan’s fire
Much to the former Imperial’s ire.

Cocytus’ pacification was nearly complete
As all of Scholae didn’t miss a beat
Even Thran appeared to lend a hand
To defeat the enemy’s hardy band.

Throughout the entire system they lost
The ISG fought on no matter the cost
Once again victory reared its beautiful head
Then Dante and his men could finally go to bed.

Rally Scholae, rally 'round
Invasion cruel & insidious abound
Scions of Cocytus stricken wide
Err a moments lost never can hide.

Scholae brothers fought true
Clans did not aid us, we so few
House avenged all slights bestowed
Onward by Fleet and by ground
Launched a counterattack by all
Armies assembled by each Team
Enter our heroes upon the scene.

Planet bombardment by Evant
Angry mobs dispersed by a dragon
Lucyeth, Shadow, Tarsus and more
Protected the Memorial Square
As the forces assembled aft lair
Time was right and all did pounce
Inside Fenn, Dante, Delak, Kor Val
Names so many and so brave
Empire, so priceless, was saved.
