The first of a two-part competition, writers will pair up and write a two-part fiction (clearly labelling each participant’s efforts with either different colour fonts or headers beforehand. The subject will be released to the participants, and the word limit will be at least 500 words per person (totalling a word count of 1000 words minimum), per pairing. Will be graded using the Fiction Rubric.

Submissions can be in the form of a word doc or shared via google drive.

Signups will be through an online form found here which will also be shared over the Arcona mailing list. If pairings wish to work together, they can arrange so beforehand and submit as a pair through the form, or they can sign up on their own and be assigned a partner based on their rank. Each pairing must consist of two members, one with a rank of JM4 or lower and one with a rank of EQ1 or higher.

If no more correct pairings can be assigned, we will remove the restriction for rank on the remaining pairs.

Numbers may not allow for all participants to be paired in which case a left over participant may choose to submit a solo written submission with a 750 word minimum. (The submission will still require you to write about teaming up with a chosen member from Clan Arcona.)

Note: Participation in this competition isn't required to be eligible to participate in the follow up competition.
