I once had a fury panda tell me that we don't award medals for someone doing their job. Especially medals for Jac. I've never been one to listen to advice from Pandas.

The Justicar is the most important position in the Dark Brotherhood. He is the moral voice and compass that is tasked with providing oversight to the Grand Master and our entire club. Jac is that compass.

I asked Jac to return from retirement and revitalize and modernize the office of the Justicar. Jac took on that challenge by clearing one of the largest case loads in our club's history, rewriting unfair and inaccurate policies (disruptive members), and updating our entire Dark Covenant (which I have in my possession for review). Jac selected two senior advisers (Halc and Monty) and tasked them with conducting a complete and independent review of what works right and what works wrong with the JST. This review has resulted in the creation of new manuals, new policies, and new documents that will not only help guide Jac's future decisions, but also guide our future JSTs.

Jac does his job. He does it better than nearly all of us. For this, I am happy to award him his second AK.

Kz'set, aka Arden, recently provided a thorough and well designed document that provided insight on future DB storytelling and plot design. Arden's "counter-point" provided the GM and others a different point of view that will undoubtedly create a better overall fiction product for the DJB. Arden submitted this document with no expectation of award, but only a desire to improve our club. Actions like this deserve recognition and awards. Thanks Arden for taking the time to help us make the DB a better place.

The Herald has created six new versions of the website, new order logos, possession weapons, robes, ribbons, and new avatars. He has done this in a short amount of time and that hides the sheer volume of work accomplished. I asked V'yr to revitalize the office of the Herald and he has accomplished it. Time does not diminish achievement.

This award completes Mako’s collection of merit crosses within the Brotherhood. And it is a fitting one as the Steel Cross represents what it is to be a role model for others and a leader to his Clan and House.

Mako served a very successful term as Clan Roll Master: welcoming members, inducting them into the Brotherhood, and pairing them with their Masters. For his hard work, he was awarded the position of Aedile of Galeres. During his time as Aedile, Mako continued his work with new members (refining his welcome letters, progression e-mails, and contact methods), He sent these e-mails once a week to each Journeyman and an additional e-mail to each Master (to follow-up on their progress with their Student) before reporting his findings to the Clan Summit. He helped in the training of his eventual replacement Ernordeth, and helped brainstorm a future four (4) competition House event “Galeres’ Gladiators”. All before real life commitments tore him from a position he earned through hard work and dedication to Arcona.

As an individual member, Mako is a fantastic source of activity. He has submitted to 17 competitions, submitted 41 PvE activities (Destiny, ftw!), racked up 123 Clusters of Fire, 228 Clusters of Earth, 28 Clusters of Ice, 2 Pendants of Blood, 3 Crescents (1 Cr-E, 2 Cr-T), and ran one mobile gaming competition for the entire Brotherhood (Mobile Gaming: Cytus). In addition, Nighthawk (Battle Team) is a living and breathing sub-unit within Arcona. The fiction and story evolves with the members and Mako is a part of this unique story and comradery through WhatsApp and Telegram; he helps with the fictional development (story and future competitions) and ‘fleshing out’ the Nighthawk through his participation.

Mako, thank you for being such a vital part of Galeres.
