During the Great Jedi War, Rax stepped up to the plate, He was constantly at the helm, encouraging his members and making sure that the members knew exactly what they needed to get their work done. Despite an insanely stressful real life that popped up during the war, Rax still managed to participate in 4 out of 11 competitions, while helping lead Dinaari's Runon Team's efforts.

Thank you for all your hard work Rax, and congratulations on your Anteian Cross.

Marrek Gunstinson fought on the front lines of Great Jedi War XI in support of Arcona’s successful war effort, participating in two of the events. Additionally, Marrek has competed in six other competitions winning an Amethyst Crescent, a Sapphire Crescent, 36 Clusters of Fire and 3 Clusters of Ice since his last award. In thanks for his efforts on behalf of House Qel-Droma and Clan Arcona, I hereby present him with this Dark Cross.

It feels like only yesterday that I was writing Rod’s promotion to Knight, but that’s how awesome he is. He is stacking up accolades so quickly, we can barely recognize him fast enough. Since his promotion to Dark Jedi Knight, results from the Eleventh Great Jedi War and Antei Contract Bureau have come out and what more can be said than he knocked it out of the park. Rod is a rockstar among the Clan’s Journeymen going toe to toe with Equites and Elders and emerging victorious. He had perfect participation in the GJW with 11 of 11 events, placing in three of those including a Silver Nova in gaming. During the war Rod was assigned to a run on team with some of the most talent writers in the Clan (including a legendary Elder) and didn’t skip a beat. The more we throw at him, the higher he rises.

Even though Rod is no longer my formal student, I still couldn’t be prouder to call him a friend and a Qel-Droman. On behalf of a grateful House and Clan I present Rod with this Anteian Cross.

There are very few things I’ve seen that can render me speechless. Nicolai “Rod” Rodell is now listed as one of those few things. From being a Protector to Dark Jedi Knight, he took the Antei Contract Bureau by storm. Not only did Rod do several consecutive contracts and nearly eight thousand words between them, he scored just shy of full marks on his first contract. That does not happen often. Not only that, he fought and clawed his way to the top against veterans that have been writing for years.

Yes, Rod won first place in the November-December Pilot of the Antei Contract Bureau. But, no, that is not all that he did. Rod jumped to SECOND PLACE in the overall standings in a series of competitions that begun in June!

Though, all of that pales in comparison to his contributions to Clan Arcona as a whole in his first ever Great Jedi War. He went beyond what is expected of your average Journeyman. Considering that he was promoted to Dark Jedi Knight in the midst of the war, most Journeyman would make you proud by doing half of the events, if that. No, Rod thrashed all expectations with perfect participation, three placements and a Silver Novae to boot!

For his tremendous efforts, I am more than honored to present Rod with this Anteian Cross.

You’ve more than earned the prize in this case, kiddo. Congratulations!

Primary reason

Ernordeth is a legend. He is the living embodiment and keeper of the spirit of Qel-Droma (or to use the phrase he coined “the Qel-Droma aroma”). Coming into the House as a new AED fresh from the land of sunshine and happy feelings (Odan-Urr) Ernor quickly became my rock. He is a friend, a mentor (as only a former HQD QUA can), a gaming buddy, an outstanding summit member and our biggest cheerleader.

Just since his promotion in November Ernor has garnered five Crescents (including a Diamond and Ruby), seven Pendants of Blood, 1930 Clusters of Fire, 3 Scrolls of Foundation for his Shadow Academy work and secured the coveted GMRG XII spot as the top gamer in the Brotherhood for 4th Quarter 2014. He also led from the trenches during the Great Jedi War, participating in all eleven events.

As impressive as his accolades in the past few months are, Ernor’s biggest accomplishment during this period was how he stepped up to the plate for Apex Brigade and the House. When the previous Apex BTL had to step down due to increasing academic load, Ernor immediately stepped up and volunteered to take the reigns. He wasted no time, putting out timely reports, creating competitions, generating hype, and training up Rhiann to take his place. His efforts were like a shot of adrenaline for the team and helped secure a solid foundation for Apex and the House.

I cannot thank Ernor enough for all that he has done for Apex Brigade, House Qel-Droma and me personally. On behalf of a grateful House please accept this small token of our gratitude.

Additional reasons

Ernordeth has been one of those members you can always count on should you need them, no matter the situation. When I transferred over from Galeres, he was Quaestor and bringing life back to House Qel-Droma in ways that I had not seen in years. When he stepped down, I will admit that I was sad to see him go. Yet we have carried on his vision for an improved, revitalized Qel-Droma. The ‘Qel-Droma aroma’, indeed!

When he was needed again, Ernordeth stepped up to the plate by taking over and breathing new life into Battleteam Apex Brigade. He carried the torch, set a new pace and improved upon what was already there before handing over the reigns to Rhiann at the end of the Eleventh Great Jedi War.

But that’s not all he did, ladies and gents. During the war itself, he set the standard to follow, leading by example by participating in every event and convincing others to do the same. As such, I am honored to be presenting Ernor with this Steel Cross.

Congratulations, my friend. This is but a small ‘thank you’ for all of your hard work.

Real life can be a harsh mistress to the best of us and lead to the worst times in our lives. Or, in this case, the best. This woman has managed to remain active through a pregnancy, working hectic hours and balancing the most difficult of tasks: caring for and raising a first child. Despite all of this, Seren Dipity Puer-Irae fought on, competed in eleven competitions, earning two Sapphire Crescents and fifty-eight Clusters of Fire throughout this period. Not only that, she participating in every event of Fading Light III despite the fact that she had recently given birth! All of our family in Qel-Droma get rewarded for their hard work and tenacity, whether they’re on our roster or not.

Because of this, I am hereby recommending Seren for an Anteian Cross.

Congratulations, Seren!

There comes a time in a mans DB career, somewhere around 17 years in, where writing reccs becomes a god damned chore. I just reached that point. Howie does all the things. All of them in the GJW, all of them in Fading Light, just all the god damned things. He participates in other competitions too, and encourages other people to do the things. He earns CFs and Crescents and SA degrees and other such crap. He’s also a good rollmaster and stuff. Howie deserves this Grand Cross of the Dark Side, and if that fact isn't obvious to you? You suck.

Grats Howie.

This is why we don’t let Yacks go first. He has eloquently summed up Howie’s value to this house and to this clan.

Howie is a key cog in Taldryan’s continuing success based on his active work with the new recruits. Right from day one, they have one of the most experienced DJB members communicating with them and helping them through the processes. Howie stays on top of each recruit (and their eventual masters) so that Tal is able to train up and retain productive clan members.

Aside from his Rollmaster position, Howie is one of the most active communicators in the clan, which is a huge factor in keeping activity flowing. Activity breeds activity, and having a vibrant mailing list and IRC channel is huge in that aspect. Howie is on IRC damn-near 24/7 (so much so that I think he just skips work to be near his home computer) and posts tons onto both the Ektrosis and Taldryan mailing lists, stimulating simple communication between all our members.

He leads from the front, carrying his “Do All The Things (TM)” banner with pride. Without checking the actual stats, I can say with confidence that he participates in more than 90% of all clan competitions and major events. It’s probably closer to 99%, but you get the point. Also, he’s not just a participant for the sake of participating; no, he goes out to win, coming away regularly with medals and placements. This is a panda who takes his role as a leader and a mentor for the young members to heart.

So, like Yacks said, don’t suck. Approve Howie’s GCoDS (or however we’re abbreviating it now). You know it makes sense.

Howie is the bar by which all other members of Taldryan are measured to. He is what everyone should strive towards, including myself. While he can sometimes be...overzealous, his activity is truly astounding and puts just about everyone else to shame.

Everyone in the DB knows that Howie's warcry is "Do All the Things", but I don't think many people outside of Taldryan, or even within it, truly knows how much he lives by that credo himself. Every major competition that has come by recently, Howlader has done every single event. He has been the main "cheerleader" as well for the Clan, pushing everyone through both e-mail and IRC to participate.

On top of all the damn competitions he keeps participating in, he's also held down the fort of Rollmaster, even though he doesn't even think it's a "real position". Taldryan has been kept afloat above the magic number of 40, without many direct recruits, due to the continued hard work that Howie puts into keeping in contact with all of our newer (and even older) members.

Howie is more than deserving of this medal. It's a no-brainer. Congrats!
