Dacien, Aedile of House Plagueis, and critical component to the very foundation of the Team Plagueis. It is with great honor that I recommend him for a Sapphire Blade, a recommendation that I do not take lightly and have given careful consideration. When looking at the awarding of a sacramental I look at three distinct areas of participation/contribution/impact on a personal, house, and DJB level. It is to Dacien’s hard work and dedication to these three areas to which I will speak.

After the tumultuous events that transpired during the second to last round of the Dark Crusade Dacien rose from the ranks to assume the mantle of leadership as the Aedile of House Plagueis. I could never truly articulate that he was the right man for the right job at the right time. House Plagueis needed a competent and capable leader who had the historical expertise and drive to propel the House through this time of crisis. Dacien raised his hand with complete understanding of the complexities of the situation and committed to giving a 100% of his time and effort to the cause. Preventing what many hypothesized would be the further degradation of House Plagueis. To complicate matters, as a veteran member of the DJB he was paired with a relative rookie to the organization to lead this effort.

With the odds seemingly stacked against the House and the new leadership Dacien led by example from day one. He immediately posted a report highlighting his intentions and expectations and from that point never looked back. Almost daily interaction on the Google Groups and IRC Dacien was a recruitment and mentorship powerhouse. He clearly understood the intent and guidance from higher and executed flawlessly. His contributions can be directly reflected in when looking at flow of members into the House. Following the aforementioned events 16 members left House Plagueis either through transfer or AWOL status. Following Dacien’s impressive recruitment efforts 15 active members transitioned in to House Plagueis. 15 active members who were and integral part of the stunning 2.93 participation ration that Plagueis earned the final round of the Dark Crusade. Furthermore, in the midst of numerous leadership initiatives Dacien completed 7 Crusade events, earning a Gold Nova in the final round when the team needed him the most. In addition, Dacien initiated, processed, and tracked, through approval, 9 Battlefield promotions and a combination of 11 merit/sacramental medals. To that end, Dacien is more than deserving.

However, recruitment alone, although impressive, is only the start. Dacien was a constant mentor to members both new and old. Always available to answer questions and address concerns, Dacien was a staple to the Google Group, sending timely and accurate responses on a near daily basis. This was a quality and accomplishment that I can state directly impacted and assisted the members of House Plagueis. Members were never left wondering what if he did not know the example he exhausted his resources to garner that answer. I have heard numerous accolades from the members of the House trumpeting the approachability and reliability when dealing with Dacien. In an all volunteer club, where numerous members are in different time zones and drastically differing real life constraints to have a staple of reliability and expertise is priceless. To that end, Dacien is more than deserving.

More so, Dacien was able to transition the integral support he provided into a motivational resolve that was contagious. He was a ever present voice of a can do attitude from participation to support at all levels. There was never a question if Dacien believed that House Plagueis would win the Dark Crusade, his every action reflected it. Every email, every update, and every message on IRC his expectations were clear. As a team, doing it the right way, driven by a spirit of healthy competition we would win the Dark Crusade. His brazen dedication the cause caught on quickly and the House Plagueis of old was reborn, stronger and with a Warrior’s resolve to the cause. To that end, Dacien is more than deserving.

When you view the performance of Dacien through the lens of DJB wide contribution his impact is readily apparent. At the end of the day a shared love of star wars, camaraderie, and healthy competition brought us to the DJB. That is in fact, the strength of the organization. Dacien understands this and executes his duty accordingly. Above the politics, he would just as readily reach out to or assist members of another House/Clan as he would his own in an effort to build the depth of the DJB team as a whole. In addition, Dacien was instrumental in the creation of a new House Plagueis website, ultimately constructing a helpful venue for not just our immediate members but prospective members to the organization. This effort is directly in line with recent/ongoing initiatives DJB wide for recruitment and advertising to build the team. To this end, Dacien is more than deserving

As Quaestor of House Plagueis I can without a doubt state the success of the House is a direct reflection of the selfless service and relentless effort of Dacien. He is a humble servant to each and every member and attributes all of his success, rightly so, to their efforts. However, a strong guiding hand during a time of need was just what House Plagueis needed. The right guy, for the right job, at the right time. To that end, Dacien is more than deserving of a Sapphire Blade. It is with great honor that I wholeheartedly make this recommendation and stand side by side with him in service of House Plagueis. Congratulations Dacien, I could not ask for a more competent, capable battle buddy and friend.

For a member so inexperienced, Rathus is something that is quite simply an anomaly to my experience of the Dark Brotherhood. He's a throwback to the days of members joining and then being on the Dark Council a year later. Rathus Marr, quite simply, is amazing. This is a man who only joined the Dark Brotherhood after the Prologue to the Dark Crusades had begun. He wasn't even a member during the last Vendetta, and yet he still has managed to put together one of the most impressive arrays of participation and placement that I have ever seen out of a new member.

Rathus has managed over the Dark Crusades to take part in over a two thirds of the events he was around for, while rising up through the ranks and his trials during the Crusades to be raised up as a Dark Jedi Knight. I mention this because so few of the old promotion requirements dealt with actual competitions, and instead required members to go above and beyond. Rathus has done that, with a razor sharp wit that is all his own, and established himself as one of the most reliable members in Taldryan. For all of the events he participated in, Rathus managed to place in a quarter of them. More than that though, he was truly dominant when he did place. Of the 5 Nova that Rathus has earned during the Dark Crusades, 4 of them have been Gold.

Most recently, Rathus proved once again his dedication, by submitting a perfect participation record on Dromund Kaas. Despite the fact that he had an insane amount of course work to complete during the same span of time as the Dark Crusades occupied, Rathus fought through, and made sure to dedicate some time for Taldryan. His efforts, go far above and beyond what we would have expected from a newer member, and truly classify him as a member of an elite group of people, who will sacrifice their few spare moments of free time in order to help Taldryan. As a member of our Special Forces team, Rathus stood up, and ensure that Taldryan would continue to dominate by being one of the largest contributors to the eventual Gold Medal winning entry in the Advertising Campaign event.

Quite simply, Rathus is a machine of excellence, and for that reason I am proud to award him this Grand Cross of the Dark Side.

Silent has served with distinction as the Battleteam Leader of Ajunta Pall since July, and has been a rock in House Plagueis for far longer. One of the House’s most reliable competitors, a mentor to younger members, and always enthusiastic, Silent has made himself an indispensable part of the fabric of House Plagueis. His work as Battleteam Leader has gone unrewarded so far, but he has been and continues to be a reliable source of activity and encouragement.

During the Dark Crusade, Silent competed in 30 out of 31 possible events over the course of the year as a member of the General Forces, earning 6 novae - 4 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. His outstanding and consistent effort has been a tremendous asset to House Plagueis and has more than earned him this Grand Cross!

Kuro is one of House Plagueis’ most dedicated members and gamers. He is also a tireless mentor and ever-present force in the House. He seeks out new members in need of guidance and does his best to encourage activity.

Throughout the Crusade, Kuro has made it his mission to compete to the best of his ability, racking up five novae (3 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) over the course of an impressive 25 events. Moreover, fully half of Kuro’s submissions were as a member of the Special Forces Team. In the last two rounds alone, Kuro won one gold and one silver nova, having participated in all 8 events. Congratulations, Kuro! You’re a major asset to this House.

I was talking to Tarax the other night, and he pointed out something to me: The Dark Crusades have been the most active he's been since he was last Quaestor of House Dinaari. That's a long time ago, and while many of his colleagues in the Old Folks' Home tend to wander in and out of activity, there's almost always sustained bursts during a period of inactivity. Tarax is different, he was out. He had nothing left that he desired from Taldryan and the Dark Brotherhood, and only came around every so often to chat with his friends… until Taldryan needed him.

And Taldryan did need him in the Dark Crusades. Tarax is an engine, there's no way around it. For the unfamiliar, an engine is a sports term describing someone who simply puts his head down, and keeps running, no matter how tired he gets. Tarax is our engine. He would cry and moan like the world was ending, about how tired he was, and how he didn't want to do anything, but despite all his bitching, he still participated in four fifths of every competition in the Crusades, and managed to place in one fifth of the events that he entered, winning three of them.

Most recently, Tarax competed in every event in the last round, helping spur Taldryan to victory on Dromund Kaas, placing in two events in the final round, and being a constant driving force within Taldryan, by being an ever constant presence encouraging our members to go forth, and do more. Given his already extreme commitment to Taldryan during the Dark Crusades, one might have forgiven him for letting up when the race was done, but Tarax did no such thing. Instead, he proved to all and sundry his value and dedication to Taldryan. In recognition of Tarax's efforts in the name of Taldryan during the Dark Crusades are the reason I am proud to award him this Grand Cross of the Dark Side.

Aabsdu is Plagueis. One of this House’s most beloved and successful members, he returned to the fold shortly before the final round of the Dark Crusade reenergized and ready to do his part. His service to the House during the past few weeks has been nothing short of exemplary. As a key member of the Special Forces team, Aabs participated in all four events. His three-man advertising team won the gold nova on Ziost and he personally out-pazaaked the competition, scoring an impressive silver novae in gaming despite computer troubles in the middle of the round. More critically, Aabs served as a lifeline to the Summit, proofreading fiction submissions and giving fantastic advice to anyone who sought it out. In his short time back, Aabs has made a substantial impact on the House and will help form the foundation upon which Plagueis’ future success will be built.
