Prototype: BD-unit Backpack Droid
The BD-unit Backpack Droid is a small bipedal droid designed to assist with research and exploration in remote and dangerous locations. It has a flat rectangular head with two photoreceptors, a small body, and two legs with clampable feet, allowing it to climb a person's body or other surfaces and traverse many different kinds of terrain . It is equipped with various tools; including a holocam and holoprojector, computer link, and a spotlight.
BD-8675-309 is subjected to frequent memory wipes, and has little to nothing in the way of personality. It acts according to its basic programming in an efficient and impersonal manner.
BD-8675-309 has been painstakingly cared for, and even upon close examination it appears as though BD-unit Backpack Droid was freshly off the manufacturing line. Absent of any scratches, dents or even the slightest imperfections, the only thing missing is the new droid smell.
