The Golan Space Defense Platform is a 1,231 meter long Military Station designed to defend small planetary outposts and space facilities and hold up to 5,000 metric tons of cargo. It is armed with twelve heavy turbolaser batteries, twelve heavy ion cannon emplacements, twelve point-defense laser turrets and four proton torpedo launchers as well as six tractor beam projectors that allow it to lock onto and move other vessels or objects. It has shielding and hull strength similar to that of a cruiser class ship as well as space for two squadrons of starfighters, one in each hangar on either end of the platform. It is deadly against starfighters and smaller capital ships, finding use throughout the galaxy by those who can afford it.
