The Venator-class Star Destroyer is an 1155-meter long Destroyer designed as a versatile multi-role carrier capable of deep space and atmospheric operations and is able to deploy troops or starfighters through a large hangar across the entire topside of the vessel. While open, the Venator can rapidly deploy its starfighters but is left vulnerable to attack and unable to enter hyperspace, with an option to more slowly deploy through a ventral docking bay. Hyperdrive capable, this vessel has average maneuverability, speed, armor, and shielding. Used extensively by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars, eventually phased out by the Galactic Empire due to its over-reliance on starfighters.
