The R2-series "Rebellion Edition" Astromech Droid is a variant of the R2-series Astromech Droid that has been heavily modified and upgraded by the Rebel Alliance in their opposition to the Galactic Empire's reign.
R3-M2 "Clanker" Astromech Droid has been painstakingly cared for, and even upon close examination it appears as though R2-series "Rebellion Edition" Astromech Droid was freshly off the manufacturing line. Absent of any scratches, dents or even the slightest imperfections, the only thing missing is the new droid smell.
R3-M2 "Clanker" Astromech Droid has developed a quirked personality, granting it an inclination towards heavy doses of sarcasm when engaged in dialogue. As a result, R3-M2 "Clanker" Astromech Droid comes across as having issues taking direction and developed a reputation for 'snark'.
