Cythraul are quadrupedal, canine creatures with long bushy tails, tapered ears, and a pointed muzzle containing sharp teeth. They have impressive jaw strength and an enhanced sense of smell. Natural apex predators, they are larger and more intelligent than the average Wolf. They are distant cousins and nearly identical to the Arx Wolf, but have lore that ties them to Clan Arcona.
Ivoshar is wild by nature, but has had its behavior modified to accept the presence of humanoids by an intervention. It is trained against its wild instincts to accept humanoids. As creature handling goes up, a member can better empathize, train, and manage this creature's behavior. Untrained (+0), this creature will do whatever it wants and one would be helpless to understand why, with its natural disposition taking over. As creature handling skills improve, a member can understand, care for, and better influence this creature with full control achieved with mastery (+5) of creature handling.
Ivoshar thrives on the hunt, but prefers to use stealth and careful preparation to pick and choose their battles. They see no need to rush headlong after a prey or target, but can often miss out on success if they miss their timing.
Ivoshar has a coat like a winter forest, thick, shaggy and layered with dry yellow-browns, russet red-browns, and peppered blacks over most of his body. Hints of white scour his underbelly, throat, and muzzle. His eyes are a pale, haunting yellow-gold.
Steadfastness, nobility, and a streak of sly cunning lie at this hound’s heart. As dynamic as his namesake, always present yet free, Ivoshar is a complex creature. The intelligent gleam in his bright eyes hints at his aim to ensure the safety of his kin and his family, be they fellow Cythraul or not. He is often much aloof and serious, and expressly protective. Raised and trained inadvertently as a war dog and having seen many battles, he is a very sure and assertive creature and does not back down from any threat. However, the loss of his original master has made him prone to bouts of melancholy and his battle experiences sometimes cause him to flinch and be hyperalert to unexpected or sudden noises and movements.
