The Gian Speeder was designed as heavier patrol speeder than the Flash Speeder for use by the Royal Guards of Naboo for crowd control and urban defense. They were armed with two side-mounted laser cannons, as well as a hood-mounted heavy cannon capable of penetrating armored targets.
