The Gladiator-class Star Destroyer is a 600-meter long Cruiser designed by Kuat Drive Yards, originally intended to serve as a dedicated escort for larger Star Destroyers but was repurposed as an independent long-range patrol vessel. Hyperspace capable, this vessel has average maneuverability and great speed, with heavy armor and average shielding. Considered to be the smallest of the Star Destroyers, it shares the familiar design of its larger brethren but features a sizeable hanger at the bow between two prongs. It still has the firepower to serve in anti-ship, escort, orbital bombardment, and blockade vessel capacities or even as the flagship of a small fleet.
