Physical Description
Appearance

While his youthful features project the radiance a man in his prime, Marick's crystal-blue eyes carry an obvious weight and wisdom beyond his years. Never seen smiling, his grim expression seems to be permanently set on his otherwise handsome visage. His jet-black hair falls in thin strands down to his shoulders, parting evenly at the center. Combined with ramrod posture, a strong jawline and flawless skin, the Hapan looks to be the very definition of regal. Well spoken, his voice carries a very faint lilt that gives it a polite, aristocratic edge.

Sporting a naturally athletic build, Marick's muscles are lean and sleek as a hunting cat and shift under his skin with an animal grace. He always moves with precision and while proportionately trim, his muscles lack any noticeable bulk or body-fat.

Notable Marks

Marick bears the Arconae tattoo on his chest as well as the Oblivion Skull on the underside of his wrist. His back is lined with pale silver scars that serve as reminders of his troubled childhood. More noticeable is the dull-red mark that lingers between his shoulder blades, a reminder of his first true encounter with Taldryan.

Attire

When going about his duties as Consul, Marick can be seen wearing his ceremonial robes, both lightsabers displayed openly on his waist. When leading and preparing for battle, however, he will switch into his Invicta robes, favoring the loose fitting fabric and light shoulder-pauldron that became a second skin over the course of the Dark Crusade.

In the Combat Center, Marick prefers to wear simple clothing; a black hooded cloak over a set of grey, sleeveless robes that come down just bellow where his boots tie off. Beneath the robe he wears a matte-black, lightly-padded bodysuit that hugs tightly to his physique. He keeps one of his twin-lightsabers within easy reach on his hip, the second remaining concealed.

Shadicar Awareness (General Aspect)

Test. Arcona’s Shadicar are regarded the deadliest assassins in the Galaxy, and Marick Arconae has proven time and again to be their best. As a direct result of his dedication to this lifestyle, Marick unconsciously checks every corner, entry-way, and exit of any room he enters, assessing the threats they could present. Similarly, he instinctively analyzes and breaks down anyone that enter his immediate awareness to the smallest detail. He notes how they walk, their posture, and not just what they are wearing on their person but how they wear it. These details allow him to mechanically pin-point weakness or flaws in an opponent. While this gives Marick an edge in single-combat, it loses its effectiveness when faced against multiple opponents and on a crowded battlefield. As a result, Marick would sooner tackle an enemy leader one on one than try and fight through a squadron of soldiers.

All This Knowing (General Aspect)

Knowledge is power, and power can do wonderful, terrible things to even the strongest of minds. Overtime, many who have reached the rank of Elder have either cracked under the weight of that knowledge or toiled the line between insanity and brilliance as a result. Marick Arconae’s willpower remains a sheet of beskar, and while he wears his Resolve like a suit of armor, hairline cracks have formed in his mind of iron. These fissures manifest themselves in small ways. Most notably, Marick has become keenly aware of his own obsessive compulsion quirks for organization and order. Things like symmetry, balance, and efficiency have become very important to him, whether it’s a misaligned painting on a wall or a set of blaster pistols with disparate barrel lengths. This has caused him to become overly critical of his surroundings, which can often irritate his subordinates, colleagues, and superiors alike. Regardless, Marick’s focus in battle is unwavering, and if he senses any form of manipulation or temptation he will close the blast doors to his mind and shut everything out: even his friends.

Shadow Lord (Personality Aspect)

The Shadow Lord carries the undying loyalty and respect of his members and military forces alike. Marick Arconae is no exception and has slowly risen as the paragon of Clan Arcona. He treats every officer from his highest ranking down to the newest initiate as part of his family, and with that kinship comes a sense of responsibility. For Marick, this involves upholding a pristine reputation by keeping to a strict set of codes: never drinking, never showing emotion, and never letting his guard down. Maintaining this mask of perfection is a constant battle and makes it difficult for even his closest of friends to connect with him. This has ruined whatever relationships he had tried to pursue in the past while leaving him alone to deal with his demons and the stress they bring.

Deadheart (Personality Aspect)

Through a combination of ruthless training and battlefield experience, Marick learned early on that emotions cloud judgment. This caused him to develop an altered state of mind called Deadheart. In this mindset, Marick is able to remain calm even when mayhem and chaos is unfolding around him. It allows him to handle high-stress encounters better than others and gives him an edge when making split-second decisions. In his long and tenuous service as a leader, however, Marick has relied on Deadheart so frequently that he has a difficult time turning it off. This leads him to come off as cold, detached and dispassionate, despite the fact that he is using the mindset, in the first place, as a way of better serving those he really cares about protecting.

Lethal Weapon (Combat Aspect)

An Obelisk to his core, Marick views the Force as a tool, not a crutch. He has spent years honing his body into the perfect weapon: reflexes wired to hair-triggers that give him a freakish athleticism and grace. Instead of using the Force as a weapon against others, Marick has become adept at not just pushing his body past its normal limits with Amplification, but timing precisely when to use it so as to never burn out. While this training makes Marick deadly in close quarters--with or without the Force--it leaves him vulnerable to ranged fighters and marksman.

"Ghost" (Combat Aspect)

Marick Arconae has made a name for himself with his talent for Ghosting through the Force, and has earned a nickname based on the abilities namesake. Marick will cloak and uncloak mid-combat sequence to disorient an opponent. In battle, he glides smoothly but sporadically like a windblown leaf: always turning and spinning while adapting to his surroundings. Every twist of his body is executed with kinetic purpose, his strikes quick and precise like the fangs of a serpent. And while he carries twin lightsaber shotos, Marick favors a one-handed dueling style so that he can seamlessly alternate his primary sword-hand. He will only take up both in tandem when forced into confronting a heavy concentration of opponents. In those situations, or when forced into tight quarters, Marick has to rely on more conservative and less dynamic tactics that make him easier to telegraph and overpower.
