Rian is a highly trained Pantoran with a pale blue skin and well defined muscles. He stands at 6’2 which is a bit taller than average. He has a fiery hairstyle and like many other Pantorans his face is dotted with facial tattoos of a yellowish color. Following of the many battles his body shows many scars but most are covered under his robe. His eyes emanate in a dark-amber color. When he became Leader of Phoenix Phyle he earned himself the right to wear the traditional mark of Phoenix, a glowing Tattoo of a Flame on his right shoulder.
As a trained Equite and Juggernaut of Taldryan, Aslar adopted a hooded, armor-clad battle suit like many of his fellow Taldryanites, though Aslar's customized version of the battle suit features elements such as a pair of spikes protruding from the pauldron on either side of his shoulders, diamond-shaped knee-cap armor and an anti-blast kama to further increase the intimidating posture to the Exarchs appearance. His hood, pauldron, kama and knee-cap armor all sports the same azure-colored decorations. See also: Rian Aslar's battle suit
Rian can always be seen carrying at least three weapons at his side.
First his Amethyst Kukri, which can be found resting on a special tailored leg platform made from tough nanoweave located on the Quaestor’s right leg, as well as the two lightsabers he has in his possession.
First his actual lightsaber, a double-bladed lightsaber that sports a pale-blue blade when activated.
Next to it rests the lightsaber that was awarded to him by his Master during his knighting ceremony.
The Exarch doesn’t make use of it, except his primary blade is lost, but still carries it with him as a sign of respect to his House. The two lightsabers were located on the left side of his hip and were held in position through hooks on his belt.
Rian has a strong, cheerful attitude and hides whatever worries him by acting optimistic After all if everyone is too busy whining and groaning about the negatives, how will anyone ever reach for the positive? True, Rian Aslar's constant happy-go-lucky attitude can rub people the wrong way, especially pessimists or those just level-headed enough to realize when things truly are going downhill, but exactly this constant positive outlook can serve to sometimes win over others when it feels like the world just wants to run havoc upon them.
Being referred to as "too stubborn to die", Rian Aslar is defined by his relentless optimistic nature and heroic demeanor but overall carries a soft, and caring spot. If a member of Taldryan is in danger, he would go extraordinary lengths to protect his brethren, with little regard for his own safety without hesitation. This attitude, however, often clouds his ability to see things from an arbitrary or objective point of view and he can come off as extremely narrow-minded.
Rian Aslar is moral and dedicated and takes pride in his membership in Taldryan. He is honor-bound to protect his brethren, and nothing can stand between him and his honor and pride. He views the lightsaber given to him by his Master, Shaz'air Taldrya during his Knighting ceremony as a symbol of his honor, and therefore, to damage it would represent damage to his honor, and he refrains from using it as much as possible.
Rian is hot-headed and fearless, not afraid to push his limits even against unsurmountable odds and never retreats. His energetic personality earned him the nickname "Ri-guy" from his closest friend and former Master Shaz'air Taldrya. Although his heart may be in the right place, this naivety and optimistic nature that wins many over sometimes unintentionally causes trouble and eventually puts others in danger.
Rian Aslar is utterly devoted to success in combat, no matter the mission, no matter the cost. He has spent his life building himself in the image of war, utilizing a dogmatic regimen that has lead him to a single-minded obsession with military success and requires intense physical and mental training. This training, however, has come at the cost of anything resembling empathy or concern for others - even his superiors and subordinates.
If Rian Aslar had been in Greedo’s shoes, Han Solo would be pushing up daisies. He almost always acts on instinct, which typically means he can be seen as impulsive and may not think his actions through, especially in situations during or leading up to combat.
