Atra's towering form typically stands a head above above most of his peers. His shoulders are broad with a barrel chest that drops to a slender waist. His body is conditioned and fit, showing the signs of his physical training while his skin is so pale that it appears to glow when reflecting moonlight. His entire back and right arm are covered in burn scars that creep over his shoulder onto his chest, highlighting the battle scars that mar the rest of his flesh. His dark, black hair is kept messy and tied in a loose ponytail that rests just past his shoulders in length, while he has thinly trimmed facial hair running along his jawline. He possesses sharp cheekbones while the rest of his face has a soft almost sad quality to it. When he speaks, he does so with a subtle but noticeable lilting accent.
He wears zen-like attire that reveals his right arm through asymetric sleeves. His right forearm is covered by a white cloth wrap while his left hand is covered with a black glove. He wears a black sleeveless shirt that is tight to his body, the collar rising halfway up his neck. Above that shirt is a white collared shirt with a slit at the throat, descending into a circular-like opening with a white band just above the opening. This second shirt rises just shy of the other shirt upon his neck. His dark grey robes cover his top and fall to his ankles, a sleeve running down his left arm and a white snowflake design on his left shoulder. Beneath the grey sash knotted at his waist is a large white snowflake emblem on his right hip. He wears black gi-like pants tucked into sleek, black boots with a good tread.
He carries himself casually, with a grace that stands at odds to the visible muscle structure of his body. His piercing, grey eyes possess golden flakes around the pupil, forming a star burst pattern. The paleness of his features, framed by his dark hair, offer a stark contrast to the dark and light tones of his attire.
- His lightsaber, Desiderium
Having experienced the cusp of death multiple times throughout his life, Atra no longer cares to differentiate between living and dying. To him, the living and the dead are one and the same. As such, he places no higher value on those who still live when compared to those who have fallen. He also holds no personal inhibitions towards his own passing, merely living until he has fulfilled whatever purpose remains to him, and will welcome death as an old friend.
There is one thing certain in the circle of life: everyone dies. That immutable fact drives Atra's philosophy towards the galaxy around him. He will not recognize any one being as being greater than all others, nor will he accept any abuse of power that leads to what he considers to be an unsustainable cancer within society. When given the option, he will remind any who suffers such delusions just how equal everyone can be, either by his hand or their own.
As a result of this very nature, Atra has difficulty ceding to any so-called authority, and will function autonomously regardless of his supposed affiliations. This marks him as a rogue, even with clan-ship.
Atra appears to be in a constant zen-like state, coming across as almost a stereotypical light side user through the use of Concealment and Quey'tek Meditation, at least until he chooses to show his true face. Like the opening of a dam, he can release his hold on his inner darkness and tap into the fears of those around him, while maintaining his calm nature.
Despite this, he maintains his serene state while seeming completely at peace with the darkness he has chosen to reside in. As such, he fights to avoid the rule of rage spurned by the taint of the dark side. Maintaining such a demeanor is quite delicate, requiring constant focus and control that can result in a jarring and furious shift if that control is lost.
Despite his penchant for a stoic persona, Atra possesses a dry wit that is put into play through the skillful application of sarcasm. He will often refrain from comment, but when he does speak it either holds a deep meaning that he truly believes or a sarcastic remark delivered in a deadpan manner. These comments are often quick and off the cuff, falling on his Perception and Intelligence.
As well, this aspect of his personality betrays a complete confidence in his abilities and self-control. Even in the most critical of moments, or the most difficult of conflicts, he will manage to ply his wit as if it were just another weapon in his arsenal. In fact, during those times he might even crack a rare grin.
Atra knows that when it comes time to fight, winning is the only thing that matters. To this effect, Atra has no desire to waste energy at all. Relying on Djem So, he will eschew all trappings of flair and showmanship in favor of practicality. He will move in a straight line, never attacking unless it is to take advantage of an opening, or create one.
Additionally, he will simply move the absolute minimum amount to avoid harm when on the defensive, using his saber to counter only when necessary. While boring to an observer and relying entirely on the limits of his patience and control, it is highly effective against single targets while allowing him to conserve his stamina to overpower his opponent.
For Atra, there is never a need to hasten towards conflict. It comes to all equally, and in due time. As such, he will never charge his opponent, opting to take a slow and methodical approach akin to the slow march of death. He will observe his opponent, perceiving their actions and adapting his approach to theirs.
Rarely, if ever, will he make the first move, preferring to counter anyone zealous enough to throw the first punch. This approach is ideal for singular encounters, but can prove cumbersome against multiple opponents.
