Always smiling, of an average height for her race and of a slight, lean frame, Atyiru isn't particularly intimidating in stature. Her body shape is something of a thin hourglass, with her hips and shoulders being about the same width. This makes her waist more well-defined. Her bust is average-sized, but appears more pronounced on her tinier frame. Her arms are lithely muscled from her medical work and training.
Atyiru's skin is a light copper, decorated with callouses and some scars. Her wild, wavy hair is a shining shade of platinum tumbling down past her waist. She has no eyes, simply vestigial sockets that she covers in bright, festive wraps of cloth. Her fingers are deft and steady, and she puts them to use in managing her hair. She loves to braid it, usually intricately. For casual purposes, she puts it in one long, simple braid down her back. Sometimes, in the field, it is tightly coiled against her scalp.
For the most part, Atyiru can be found either wearing a medic's uniform or an outfit commissioned to her by an old friend. It consists of a corseted top, split skirt, shorts, two belts, and knee-high boots, all in white, blue, and gold. A golden Arcona symbol is emblazoned over the back of her top, and several accessories complete the image--her favorite turquoise cloak, a metal armband, a simple cord necklace with red cloth tied to one end, and an Arcona pendant gifted to her by Marick Arconae. She dresses mainly for practicality and comfort and always wears layers so that she can adjust to multiple environments throughout the day, whether she's onboard a station or planet-side.
Atyiru's back is canvased in thin, raised wheals of scar tissue from several whippings. She has one tattoo, a small block of four horizontal bars on the outside of her upper left thigh. The text within the bars is in Basic and read "Bold Beyond Fury, Brave Beyond Pain".

Atyiru's creed may be "You need never apologize to me", but she's been hurt one too many times to take that merciful path quite so easily anymore. Atyiru lost much during her first war with the Brotherhood, and while she is still kind and forgiving, those losses have shaped her since. She has invested herself much more in combat training and hardened herself with the ideal that she cannot only heal, but must fight. She has sworn an oath “to protect those who can't protect themselves,” even if it means getting her own hands dirty.
Atyiru can be a tad bit... grating to the nerves; or outright creepy, depending on how well one takes an endless supply of optimism, humor, and general good cheer. She's exuberantly hopeful, with a sunny disposition, and thinks laughter is medicine and smiling soothes the soul; and she really doesn't see the point of all her comrades being so broody all the time. Honestly, doesn't it get tiring, putting that much effort into the whole, "my soul is black, like the Dark Side" thing? Regardless, Atyiru's on a mission to liven up the place; even if her relentless teasing can earn her a few murderous glares, and even if she has to drag her brethren kicking and screaming into a bright, shiny happy-place.
Every life taken, whether a friend's or an enemy's, equates to Atyiru's Force-sighted world getting a little bit smaller. Death pains her in ways that most species cannot comprehend, and she often acts as a martyr because of it. This fact, along with her compassionate nature, lead to an express sorrow and loathing towards killing. While she will always do what she must to protect what and who she stands for, Atyiru will also always kill only as a last resort. Offering asylum or accepting surrender will be her immediate options, and after a battle, she will linger to treat the wounded of both sides whenever she can.
Regardless of what you are, where you come from, or who you are, Atyiru will be kind to you, focus on your better qualities, and try to be your friend. You could be anything from an innocent child to a sadistic murder and she will still appreciate you for any decent aspect of your character; even a quality you might not know you have. This is perhaps her defining characteristic in its most basic sense: she cares about people. They mean absolutely everything to her, and that, more than anything else, is what makes her so passionate.
Just because Atyiru is physically blind doesn’t mean she cannot see. Her natural gift with empathy gives her a method of seeing people in a way that few bother to seek: through emotion. At their core, all living beings are motivated by emotion, and Atyiru has developed a talent in reading those feelings like an open book. With that knowledge, she can manipulate those emotions in subtle ways to either calm or flare certain emotions a person may be feeling, whether that be to ease their anxiety or riot their tempers. Atyiru isn't afraid of using these skills for the sake of her friends, but can often make those who know about what she can do uncomfortable. The thought of someone not trusting her because of her ability prevents Atyiru from using it to its full extent, and that reluctance can mean the difference between victory and defeat.
On the battlefield, Atyiru is often utilized in a support roll for her medical prowess. Combined with her aversion to killing, this prevents her from charging the front lines with the rest of her brethren. When forced into direct combat, however, Atyiru can apply her knowledge of medicine as a weapon of its own. She focuses on “when” and “where” to strike her opponents instead of trying to out-muscle or even out-think them, exploiting weak points in their anatomy. She employs extraneous methods to stun, incapacitate, or otherwise knock her enemies unconscious. However, she is still often overwhelmed by physically superior opponents, and does her best to avoid elongated duels. Moreover, she is prone to hesitation if she feels her actions could permanently harm an opponent, ally or otherwise.
