Solas is of an above average, athletic build. Choosing to focus on efficiency over raw size. His body hardened and his muscles honed from his years of military training on Sarkhai. Early in his life Solas had his hair genetically modified to change the hair from brown to white to allow him to blend in on his new home world of Sarkhai. Around the same time he also had his adopted family's crest tattooed on the left side of his neck.
His irises are a sickeningly sulfuric yellow, and his sclera is a deep black. He also has a small white goatee and has ritualistic black tattoos applied to his face.
Shortly before his ascension to Knight, Solas had his left arm severed at the shoulder and replaced the missing limb with a custom-built prosthetic of his own design.
Solas wears a set of equite robes. Consisting of a combination of heavy durasteel armor and traditional Sith robes.
Solas Night-Thorn has experienced loss many times throughout his life. Initially he made peace with this, but over time he slowly began to consider the potential of trying to reverse these events. This eventually lead him down the path of manipulating the dead in the hopes of resurrecting his lost loved ones. This obsession has caused Solas Night-Thorn to loose his grasp on morals. He is willing to do things that others would consider taboo, and cross lines that most wouldn't even consider.
Someone in Solas Night-Thorn’s past was killed and he has vowed to avenge their death. Should the object of his vengeance be discovered, he is likely to to do whatever he can to exact revenge, no matter the cost.
Thanks to his choices and the events in his life, Solas Night-Thorn has had several brushes with madness. And while he may have been able to repress it, over time it seeped into every part of his mind. While normally Solas Night-Thorn can be distant and uncaring to others, at any moment something in his mind can flip and he could enter into a state of sadistic glee and excitement that takes a perverse pleasure in inflicting pain, or one of cold violence and ruthless destruction.
His unstable personality has been described as “a bullet, addressed ‘to whom it may concern’, resting unfired”. This is in reference to the fact that there are no clear reasons, or triggers to his personality shifts.
Solas Night-Thorn has a very tactical personality. When he is not enraged, he will study his opponent thoroughly if given the opportunity. He has become a brilliant warrior because of this, and on-top of his normal survival instincts, this advantage of his brain allows him to survive some of the most difficult battles. He is prone to using decoys and tricks to defeat his larger enemies, in addition to of evasive maneuvers and hiding, while looking for a weak spot.
This mindset, however, can lead Solas to be put in some sticky situations when faced with a more observant enemy. In these situations Solas is prone to throwing himself headlong into his opponent without hesitation.
Solas Night-Thorn is subject to blood lust, getting an intense bestial satisfaction off of killing other people almost to the degree that he could be considered somewhat psychotic. He will occasionally grin in such a manner that makes him appear to be a demon, and loves the feeling of killing those he considers scum. He's always open for a challenge, and does not mind literally crushing someone's body and internal organs to employ his battle techniques. That being said, Solas has no morals on how he kills people and will easily slaughter almost anyone without giving it a second thought.
However should he take enough damage, something snaps inside. He taps into the latent madness that exists in his mind and enters into a blood rage. In this state he fights through any pain or injury willing to risk everything in order to become a force of destruction that leaves nothing but a trail of bile and gore in his wake. However, his blood rage put him in far more danger than the normal combatant, often resulting in needless injury and suffering, trading safety for pure offensive ability.
A blade is a tool for killing, but in the hands of an artist of violence its true beauty shines through, becoming more paintbrush than simple tool. Wielded with two hands and swung in wide sweeping strikes, Solas Night-Thorn’s lightsaber can cleave through man and machine alike. The wake of its swing as a cacophony of screams and flying body parts. Taking the Djem-So’s mindset of defending and then instantly countering, but modifying its application. Using a two handed grip almost exclusively, save for the integration of Force powers, Solas’ lightsaber combat is that of a berserker. He waits for his opponent to strike before countering the attack and battering the opponent with a barrage of heavy cleaves and crosscuts.
However, the style suffers from the same drawbacks as standard Djem-So in it’s stance being too static and lacking mobility. And due to the style’s straight forward approach, it is best suited to single combat and can be difficult under the assault of multiple opponents.
