Uji’s past as a Jedi ended abruptly with his dodging a trial for crimes against the Alliance. To date, Uji is still under the assumption that Alliance Intelligence and the Jedi Temple are both still hunting for him. This makes him wary of those he doesn’t know or trust, and this awareness extends to those within the Brotherhood who could use him to gain favor from either party after him.

Just The Tool For The Occasion: Throughout most of his life, Uji has been used by one organization, individual or ideology after another. He has served as a Jedi Sentinel, an Obelisk Assassin, personal adviser and has generally kept to the shadows involving politics. Uji does not rail against this concept however; he finds comfort and security in having his orders being passed down to him and knowing that the ultimate cost of success or failure does not fall on him. Having recently been thrust into the role of Battleteam leader, Uji remains uncomfortable in his new role but has found the transition not as jarring as he expected.

Uji remembers the years he spent as a Jedi, haunted by the memories of betraying those close to him, the murders he committed, and the secrets he kept hidden for the “greater good” of the Jedi Order. Uji has embraced his emotions more fully, giving him a strong connection to the Force, and a stronger desire to realize his goals. The fear, though, still remains within him: he knows how easily he can become the cold, unfeeling machine that he became as a Jedi.

Uji is both Sith and a former Jedi. Just as he has held both the powers of Dark and Light, so too does he hold both in his heart. When protecting those he cares for or serving as a comrade and brother-in-arms, he fights defensively and reacts to his enemies as a Guardian, rather than going on the offensive. However, when sent out on his more insidious quests, alone on his shadowed path, he adopts a far more demonic style, suppressing his humanity and focusing completely on his mission until it is ended - by whatever means necessary.

Uji has spent years learning to control his own body. When engaged, he spares no energy in his movements: every thrust, spin, or parry uses only what is absolutely necessary. His training by the Shadicar, often regarded as the deadliest assassins in the galaxy, have honed his capabilities to perfection. Now far more capable of enhancing his natural athleticism with his talent in the Force, Uji can fight far longer and control his movements to a near supernatural extent. The trade-off, though, is that he holds absolutely no talent in ranged combat with the Force, having focused so entirely on his own physical abilities.

Uji is an adept in the form of Makashi dueling. His patience during battle is nearly unbreakable. He tests his opponent’s defenses time and again before committing to any strike. This makes him frustrating to face in battle as he turns the speed and quickness of Makashi into a shield against his adversaryt’s strikes and will only commit once he has an opening to exploit. A single stroke is all that is required to end an enemy, after all. Though this makes Uji a dangerous opponent, it also means he can be even further delayed when facing multiple opponents or one opponent skilled enough to never show an opening.
