Jon's appearance can charitably be described as "unkempt" (he prefers the term "ruggedly handsome"), with messily tied back brown hair, and beard perpetually unshaven. His skin is light, and eyes dark blue. Heavyset, and tall for a human, he tends to take up space in a room, even without meaning too.
Jon Silvon is the grandson and protege of the Imperial Intelligence operative Jon Argus. Under his grandfather's tutelage, Jon Silvon learned everything there was to know about the arts of deception and manipulation.
Once upon a time, he used that skill set to lookout for himself, making a living in the criminal underworld as a confidence man and information broker. Now he puts them to use for the Brotherhood, hoping to carve his identity apart from his grandfather's legacy.
But a lifetime of lies and aliases has left him with a difficulty recognizing the truth when he sees it, in himself most of all. Jon's greatest fear is losing himself under all the lies, and forgetting the "real" Jon Silvon in the process.
Jon may be a liar, thief, and scam-artist extraordinaire, but there are lines he refuses to cross. Over the years, these developed into a sort of code, or at least a personal philosophy:
Take whatever you like, but never infringe on another being's freedom; slavers are the worst sort of scum in Jon's eyes.
Always pay back a debt. When a job is done, everyone gets an equal share.
Never deal in weapons.
Pull your own weight; anyone who falls behind is left behind.
It's no Jedi or Sith Code, but it's guided Jon for a long time, and they're the only rules he refuses to break.
Copious amounts of buffoonery, tom-fooling, and appropriately placed stupidity tend to lend the impression that Jon is...well, a moron. Which is exactly how he likes it, as it keeps guards lowered and expectations down. Of course, how much is an act is still up for debate.
Unfortunately, this has the tendency to make it harder for his allies to take him seriously when he needs them too, and few trust him at his word.
Despite an aversion for physical confrontation, Jon Silvon has a quick-witted and sharp sense of humour, and never passes up the opportunity to make a quip or jibe about his situation, or to taunt his enemies. While some find Jon Silvon to be funny and likeable, others do not always respond so warmly, and occasionally Jon Silvon will get himself into more trouble than he thought when someone takes a joke the wrong way.
Fond of staying alive and prepared, Jon Silvon keeps several bladed weapons hidden on his person at all times and in all different locations. Jon Silvon switches these locations periodically in order to maintain an element of surprise even among his allies who know him. Unfortunately, this sometimes means that he is slower to draw one of these weapons if he forgets where he stashed them.
Without the gift of the Force, Jon Silvon has trained rigorously with a wide range of melee weaponry and technology to better handle opponents that are able to harness the mythical power. Jon Silvon has been conditioned to fight against foes that are Force-sensitive and are able to compensate against fighting an adversary wielding something as deadly as a lightsaber. While this adaptive combat training makes him lethal in close quarters combat against any kind of threat, they are still at the mercy of a long ranged fighter, assailant or Force user that prefers to attack the mind instead of the body.
