Turel is a human male of average height. He possesses the svelte build and muscle tone of a welterweight fighter. He keeps his salt and pepper hair in a short, military style cut. Turel hates shaving so he usually has stubble or a short cut beard in the same salt and pepper color as his hair. His bright green eyes and cocksure smile convey the confidence of a man who has beaten the odds numerous times and knows it.
Despite his outward confidence and initial warmth Turel also has the face of a man for whom the passage of time and countless fights have taken their toll. He has light scarring on the right side of his face, heavy scarring on the right side of his torso and a cybernetic right arm from a failed attempt against his life. His prosthetic right arm extends from the elbow down. Turel opted for a reinforced metal finish as opposed to a skin graft making his prosthesis plainly visible when he doesn't wear long sleeves and gloves.
Turel prefers function over form when it comes to attire. He typically wears dark colored clothing of a utilitarian, yet stylish, nature. He wears a form-fitting jacket, gloves, pants, and boots. He also wears a functional belt containing his lightsaber, grenades and two holsters for his blaster pistols.

Despite whatever all his other characteristics may convey, Turel Sorenn retains the air of a person that is confident, if not arrogant. Minor (and often, major) things in his body language - his walk, his stance, his expressions - reveal these feelings. At times, it seems he borders upon narcissism, especially judging from how much he enjoys his own company.
Turel Sorenn grew up on the streets of Nar Shaddaa and received his education in the cutthroat ranks of the Hutt Cartel’s enforcers. As such, Turel is perfectly at home in the seedier parts of the galaxy. Crowed city streets, dive bars, spaceports and sleazy clubs are Turel’s home turf.
Turel’s comfort and ease in shadier, more urban environments is contrasted by his discomfort in high society and more natural, rural environments. He is a city boy to the core and not the guy you want leading you through the woods.
Turel Sorenn has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that he employs with mixed results in response to stressful situations. While Turel’s use of humor helps him maintain his calm demeanor, it can sometimes get him into trouble as not everyone appreciates his sass. He uses situationally inappropriate humor and flimsy bravado as a defense mechanism to hide his stress and fear. This defense mechanism rarely fools anyone.
Turel Sorenn spent most of his adult life as an enforcer for the Hutts. The criminal life is all Turel knew until a series of events caused him to question his life and seek out another way. While Turel is a fully committed to walking the path of a Jedi Guardian, his years in the underworld have profoundly shaped his personality and moral compass.
Having come up in a world where “the ends justify the means” ruled the day, Turel tends to view moral choices very pragmatically. More traditional Jedi and respectable members of society tend to view Turel as a shady, uncouth character. The less savory denizens of the galaxy see Turel as weak and self-righteous for turning his back on the criminal life.
When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Turel Sorenn? Turel Sorenn doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Turel Sorenn, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Turel Sorenn isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Turel Sorenn won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Turel Sorenn will still be winning, the best and most dirty way he knows how.
Turel Sorenn wears out his opponents through use of the Force, agility, and evasion. Once he has sufficiently tired his foes through the Force, physical, or mental assault, he quickly tries to find a means of cleanly and swiftly dispatching them - usually resulting in a somewhat risky all-or-nothing attempt at a deathblow.
