While Calvo is very aggressive in combat, he has combined his knowledge of Teras Kasi with basic knowledge that a moving target is harder to hit. While unarmed, or with a lightsaber Calvo will jump, duck, spin, change direction, and do anything else to change his height and direction. While this helps for large groups, he is aware that this is useless against a single opponent, and will abandon this tactic when facing someone one on one.

Calvo refuses to use the force in a blunt attack. While he knows it will be used against him, he uses it to either empower himself, heal, alter another's mind, or take over a beast. While he can use telekinesis, he will never use it to push a foe, unless he has no other choice. While this appears to leave him vulnerable in combat, he has built his training in the force to provide as many defenses as possible.

Calvo, now having killed his primary enemy, has begun to doubt the dark side. Believing it was nothing more than a waste of time, he doubts his true path. Having heard of the Grey Jedi, he has tried to become one of them. He hesitates to ever try and learn any dark side attacks, and is hesitant to join the Light side, as he enemy was a Jedi of her own right. He walks the path of Balance, though when push comes to shove, he is truly a dark Jedi.

Calvo has found love, and will do anything to keep her safe. Any threat to her, no matter how unbelievable he takes seriously. He will jeopardize everything to protect her, no matter what the cost. He will go to extreme lengths for her, something that makes him unpredictable at times. While his closest friends and allies know this, many of those his senior do not, making him seem like a maverick.

Having gained his own small squad of five soldiers from the Ascendant Legion, Calvo is never truly alone. One member of his squad is always with him, though they switch out constantly. This does help him in combat, though he will always try to keep his squad safe. He will risk his life for his squad, and they will do the same for him.

Learning Teras Kasi in the 11th Great Jedi War, Calvo has devoted himself to combat. he has given up his previous control of the battlefield for brute force. Though his study of martial arts, light saber combat, and his own ability to control beasts, Calvo makes a powerful combatant, though at range he is near useless. Calvo will often combine his rage, and his beast control to battle, though will lose control more often.
