When Satele Shan's Summit began a the search for a new Battle Team Leader, Mauro's name came up a couple of times. After reading his application I see why. His novel concept of an internal security unit in Clan Odan-Urr has taken off and has gained the support of the Clan Summit. He is currently starting work and creating a team to develop the Wiki which will provide a resource outlining the fictional creation and life of the new team. He also has completed the first chapter of the fictional foundation for the team, rooted in trying to prevent future turn coat SenNet operatives from crippling the Clan's intelligence network. All of this barely four days after being appointed and after being highly active during the Great Jedi War.

On top of all of this I am glad to now call him a friend and I look forward to continuing to work with him developing the Battle Team and the House.

Mauro really came into his own during the war, with a high participation rate and, most unusually, an ability to get his fiction entries written and submitted well before the last minute. As Max detailed above, this is only the cap on a wide variety of activity over the past year. His Sage launched him to SAS XII, which remains a rare and impressive feat.

Over the last few days, I’ve gotten to see his initial efforts on Shan’s new battleteam. I have to say, Mauro’s energy and dedication have been astounding, and the quick recruitment of ten members is going to be only the first of many successes for him. This is a case where a grand cross, while definitely well-deserved, is almost certainly only the beginning.
