Rod is a slightly above average height human. His time in the military has given him a muscular build, with a broad back and strong arms, he has the physique of a soldier. He keeps his light brown hair short at all times and keeps his face clean shaven, habits that he can't kick. He has a rigid square-cut jaw line and piercing blue eyes. When fighting, Rod wears slim fitting black pants with a red stripe, a black long sleeve shirt, and a plain black jacket.

Despite whatever all his other characteristics may convey, Rod retains the air of a person that is confident, if not arrogant. Minor (and often, major) things in his body language - his walk, his stance, his expressions - reveal these feelings. At times, it seems he borders upon narcissism, especially judging from how much he enjoys his own company.
Rod's life is filled with training and learning for all sorts of situations, from the mind-numbingly normal to the utterly bizarre. As such, Rod has developed into a rather resourceful individual. This has made Rod a mix of academic and scholar, always with something to offer to any discussion. However, knowledge and training does not always translate well to the tense environment of the battlefield, and no amount of textbooks can prepare one for reality...
Rod prefers to push the rules to the absolute limit. While he is unlikely to actually break rules or disobey orders, he toes the line between what is allowed and what isn't at every opportunity.
Rod is extremely cocksure and headstrong. Possessing a keen wit and exceptional level of intelligence, Rod will often use his superior intellect to humiliate lesser minds. Basically, he is kind of a jerk, and that can sometimes get Rod in a bit of trouble.
Rod possesses a single minded drive for victory, and a deep-seated martyr complex. When presented with a chance to wade into battle versus overwhelming odds, Rod does not hesitate, and instead rushes in, relying on skill, fate or chance to let him survive.
Where most err on the side of caution in a confrontation, Rod prefers to charge in head-first. While others may skirt a battlefield or keep their careful distance, Rod rushes in with devastating attacks with seemingly no regard for safety, relying upon instinct and possibly armor to protect him from dismemberment and death during his all-out attacks. Rod is a force to be feared on the battlefield, leaving a trail of death and destruction. However, Rod's blood-hungry ways put him in far more danger than the normal combatant, often resulting in needless injury and suffering, trading safety for pure offensive ability.
