Xuner is a Human with light blue eyes, light coloured skin, and platinum hair kept in a tidy military undercut that compliments his soldier's physique. His entire right arm, left leg above the knee, and right leg below the knee are all cybernetic as a result from his years as a soldier of the Imperial Army. He has scarring on his mandible, notably three Nexu claw marks along his lower left jaw and two over his left eye, and a scorch mark on his right shoulder from where his arm once was. His facial expression is normally one of soldierly stoicism void of any emotion.
Xuner Holst doesn't like to work in groups or teams and feels most comfortable on his own. Xuner Holst sticks to himself, sets his own pace, and doesn't share feelings or emotions with others. While the Lone Wolf can get things done quietly and efficiently, he tends to be emotionally cut off and has problems relating to his comrades.
Xuner Holst has a sick sense of humor, viewing the world through dark colored glass. He has a biting sense of black humor, often laughing at things that most people would find reprehensible or down right soul crushing. As a result, those that are not used to his brand of humor often find Xuner Holst downright unbearable or overly morbid. At the same time, his cynicism can be useful for seeing through the optimistic altruism of those he encounters.
After purposely undergoing torture, Drae’lath’s mind has been psychologically broken. This break has triggered the creation of two completely different personas while abandoning the old one. The first and "default" is Holst, a psychopathic strategist with a passion for pain whose greatest love is seeing a properly thought out plan coming to fruition. The second and "alter," Xuner, is a pro-human speciesist and paranoid schizophrenic, a Templar warrior with an absolute hatred for aliens and traitors alike, and a passionate devote to the Brotherhood. The downsides are that Holst, though aware of his attack dog alter, doesn’t have as much control as he would like, and certain triggers force Xuner’s personality to come out. These episodes are a constant frustration to the neurotic Holst and a chaotic danger for everyone else.
To the religious Xuner, the voices in his head have been identified as either Katrea, his ‘dead’ wife or one the four ‘Gods of Chaos’ that he worships. To Holst, slightly more mindful of reality, it is simply Vesh, the Sith Spirit bound to his cybernetic arm, discussing the next step in whatever plan they are working on. Both Holst and Xuner will sometimes have full conversations with their respective "companions" - Holst and Vesh or Xuner and whoever Vesh is pretending to be in order to influence the alter - even when the room is completely empty save for themselves. This, coupled with Xuner’s violent reactions to delusions, has lead to most, save for the those who genuinely don’t care or those who understand his affliction, to avoid every form of contact with Holst unless absolutely necessary.
Xuner has one goal: to please the Gods in order to return his ‘dead’ wife to him. To this end, when unleashed by Holst or otherwise tearing free, he will become possessed with a single-minded drive for victory with complete disregard with life and limb, be it his, his ally's, or his enemy's. He will completely ignore every other threat to his life and charge into the battlefield head first to pursue his target, leaving a trail of death and destruction with seemingly no regard for safety. Xuner's blood hungry ways put him in far more danger than a normal combatant, often resulting in needless injury and suffering, trading safety and relying upon the Dark Side to protect him from dismemberment and death during his all-out attacks. Holst may try to regain control in order to save themselves, but finds it terribly difficult when Xuner has full reign.
Holst is utterly devoted to success in combat, no matter the mission, no matter the cost. He leaves himself vulnerable in this obsession, considering its fruition more important than practicality or survival. He seems to get his thrills, perhaps sadistic ones at that, from toying with his opponents, however. While some are content with simply striking down or injuring their opponent, that is not enough for Holst. No, he wishes to see his enemy descend into madness or kneel before him as a blathering mess; or even better, as a fresh new servant with a muddled mind. In order to wear out his opponents through use of the Force, agility, and evasion, the Puppeteer usually forsakes outrightly hurting and maiming his opponent and focuses on illusions, mind tricks, and other wicked means of destroying a person.
