Tall and imposing, like most of his kind, Grot towers over other sapients. His scales are dark brown and mottled with green, covered with numerous ugly scars. Most are displayed prominently, even pierced and decorated with tally markers and small totems. His lips curl backwards into a sneer, revealing rows of grizzly sharpened teeth and highlighting the savage bone piercing running through his septum. His bright orange eyes shine with a steely gaze.
Grot doesn't like to work in groups or teams and feels most comfortable on his own. Grot sticks to himself, sets his own pace, and doesn't share feelings or emotions with others. While the Lone Wolf can get things done quietly and efficiently, he tends to be emotionally cut off and has problems relating to his comrades.
Despite whatever all his other characteristics may convey, Grot retains the air of a person that is confident, if not arrogant. Minor (and often, major) things in his body language - his walk, his stance, his expressions - reveal these feelings. At times, it seems he borders upon narcissism, especially judging from how much he enjoys his own company.
Killing has never been a problem for Grot; and he kind of enjoys it now, if he is honest. Killing's what Grot does, and he likes what he does.
Grot tells it like he sees it, when he thinks it; and he doesn't try to sugar coat what he says.
Grot does not believe in half-measures in battle. Once he commits to a plan of attack he will do so with a savage and overwhelming ferocity. The goal for him is to end the engagement as quickly as possible, whether it is in a hail of gunfire or a flurry of blades. The sudden brutality of these assaults can be difficult to defend against, but if unsuccessful often leave him open to counterattack.
Grot approaches combat with the patience of a veteran hunter. He will do everything in his power to prepare for his foe and will plan traps, ambushes, and lures to draw them out of position. Unless he is assured of victory, he will rarely commit to a battle and prefers instead to remain at a distance and wear the enemy down. This makes him a frustrating combatant to defeat if given the time to prepare, but if thrown suddenly into combat Grot will be left scrambling.
