From her family's heritage on Iloh, Emere has an olive tint to her skin. On both arms, from the top of her shoulders down to her wrists, she has a maze of tribal tattoos that represent her family's lineage and preserve the dwindling numbers of her culture. Galo has long, black and straight hair that curls at frayed edges which tumbles over her shoulders and face when it is not tied back or pushed away.
Emere has strong features with high cheekbones, a defined jawline that meets at a rounded chin, and eyebrows that form a tight crease in the middle of her forehead. Beneath her eyebrows are hooded almond-shaped eyes that are dark brown, nearly black, a trait inherited from her mother. In between her eyes is the straight bridge of her nose that comes to a rounded, slightly upturned end. The corners of her mouth have a slight crease from her seemingly perpetual frown. With her average five-foot-seven frame, she is surprisingly lean, the muscles in her arms, legs, and abdomen clearly defined from constant training.
All over her lean frame, scars make themselves known but are not a prominent feature. She has small scrapes and scratches from her childhood, a faint scar that forms a line in between her ribcage from an emergency heart surgery, and some on her right arm and right side of her ribcage from an attempt to protect herself from an explosion, which, are no longer visible on her arm because they were filled back in with tattoo ink.
Emere has never seen the use in looking ‘beautiful’. She prefers to have a basic appearance that does not draw much attention.
Emere's core values are duty, honor, and loyalty. These were engrained in her from a family who has served in security forces for generations. While she is remarkably efficient and dedicated in her work and whoever she has pledged to, she tends not to look too closely at the people or organization, trusting in their legitimacy lest the illusion be shattered and she find herself in trouble. As a result, while Emere may be a good soldier, she can also be a very unwitting and dangerous pawn for more nefarious players.
A woman of few words, Emere keeps to herself and rarely shows an outward appearance of her emotions, a nearly permanent scowl carved into her features. To most, her demeanor reads as cold and above reproach which is not an unfair assessment; she values her space and time to herself. However, she can be an ear and voice of reason to people who have dared to connect with her. Most notably, her daughter, Morra Galo, Morgan B. Sorenn, and some others.
Emere Galo tells it like she sees it, when she thinks it; and she doesn't try to sugar coat what she says.
As calm and collected as Emere may be, her anger has and can put those closest to her and herself in danger. This rage is usually provoked by a slur, an enemy, a threat, or her desire for revenge which is followed by an irrational response-- violence. She enters into a tunnel vision and virtually nothing can stop her until she is physically subdued or hurt.
Through a mixture of cocksure courage and arrogant swagger, Emere Galo will not back down from a challenge when called out, even if the wiser path is to walk away or let it go. Emere Galo's personality does tend to rub a lot of people the wrong way, which generally puts her into situations that escalate quickly to violence. While she may not be the one to always start a fight, she will always see it through to it’s conclusion. Some have tried to play a challenge off as idle banter, but when Emere Galo initiates or accepts a challenge, she does not hold back.
Where most err on the side of caution in a confrontation, Emere Galo prefers to charge in head-first. While others may skirt a battlefield or keep their careful distance, Emere Galo rushes in with devastating attacks with seemingly no regard for safety, relying upon instinct and possibly armor to protect her from dismemberment and death during her all-out attacks. Emere Galo is a force to be feared on the battlefield, leaving a trail of death and destruction. However, Emere Galo's blood-hungry ways put her in far more danger than the normal combatant, often resulting in needless injury and suffering, trading safety for pure offensive ability.
