Physical Description

Griever stands at 5’9 - not the most intimidating of statures, yet it’s evident even through his robes and light armour that his physique is designed purely for killing. His face is obscured by a mask that covers his nose, mouth and chin, and his eyes are hidden behind a pair of weathered goggles. Only visible is a shock of jet black, unruly hair. Griever’s voice is filtered through what sounds to be a respirator - when he deigns to speak at all - and his gestures and movements are reserved and subtle; a complete economy of motion, as if saving any energy he has for combat.

Grey Man (General Aspect)

Griever is an unknown quantity. One’s vision seems to slide right off him in a crowd, as if viewing him from the corner of ones’ eye. He easily fades to the background of most settings, and takes every effort to encourage this effect. Whether through some Force trickery or other means is unknown. It is unlikely that Griever can rally troops or lead from the front, given his proclivity for remaining unnoticed.

Shadicar Awareness (General Aspect)

Arcona’s Shadicar are regarded the deadliest assassins in the Galaxy, and Griever moves like a natural life-long Shadicar. As a direct result of his dedication to this lifestyle, Griever unconsciously checks every corner, entry-way, and exit of any room he enters, assessing the threats they could present. Similarly, he instinctively analyzes and breaks down anyone that enter his immediate awareness to the smallest detail. He notes how they walk, their posture, and not just what they are wearing on their person but how they wear it. These details allow him to mechanically pin-point weakness or flaws in an opponent. While this gives Griever an edge in single-combat, it loses its effectiveness when faced against multiple opponents and on a crowded battlefield. As a result, Griever would sooner tackle an enemy leader one on one than try and fight through a squadron of soldiers.

The man with the blurry face (Personality Aspect)

Anyone who has served in Arcona for any length of time feels a familiar presence in the Force from Griever, but it’s almost impossible to pin him down. It’s eerily similar to forgetting a word or phrase and having it on the tip of your tongue, and not be able to place it. Naturally, this also means that Griever’s list of contacts and allies is near-zero, and most people would be hard pressed to trust a stranger.

Apply cold water to burned area (Personality Aspect)

Griever is a man of few words. What he does say matters, or is at the very least cutting. Being so stringent with words doesn’t lend well to an overabundance of charisma, however.

Mighty Guard (Combat Aspect)

Fighting Griever is like taking on a brick wall. He prefers to adopt a more defensive posture in combat, allowing an opponent’s to break on him like waves on a beach, weathering the storm until his opponent reveals a weakness, or (preferably) collapses from sheer exhaustion. Whether fighting at range or up-close and personal, Griever defends or avoids the majority of attacks coming his way, and only once he has studied his combat, once he has played his experimental probes and discerned a pattern, will he strike. It is rare for him to have to strike more than once. Conversely, if he is unable to pick out a particular time to attack, he will surely be himself too worn out to continue fighting.

The End (Combat Aspect)

Every single motion Griever makes is pre-meditated. Every glance, move of the hand, step is perfect and with purpose. There is no wasted movement, no flare and no fanfare in his fighting. Griever’s already-elusive aura is perfectly matched with this; often, he isn’t even seen until the death blow has been delivered, and onlookers are left wondering what just happened. If forced into open combat, he isn’t afraid of throwing everything he has into achieving his goal; making sure that his opponent lies dead in front of him, and he can retreat back to the sidelines. Seeking perfection through combat in such a way has its drawbacks, however. Griever has to have peerless timing and awareness to constantly achieve such a level of power, and human error can sometimes come into play. After all, everyone makes mistakes.
