Primary reason

Since he came back to the Clan, Saitou has been a source of inspiration and even more importantly, he has always managed to remind us of the history of the Clan and it's traditions. At all times he has been watching out for developments that endangered the Clan's stability and helped us avoid a few bad situations.

Some may say that this does not warrant an award as big as this, but it certainly does, because without him neither Desmos nor me would have had any drive to attempt to reconstruct the Clan to what it once was, or something at least equally valuable.

Primary reason

For some time, Saitou has been in the Clan without any real medals or promotions to show him thanks for his efforts. At Saitou's rank, and with the medals he has earned, it can sometimes be hard to show proper gratitude, but I hope that Saitou understands how much I, and the rest of Tarentum, appreciate his presence.

When Saitou joined the Clan, he created and ran a couple of competitions for everyones' benefit. He makes it a practice to run his "pumpkin carving" contests at Halloween, which always draw in the interest of others. He has run trivia competitions, as well as other events both on his own, and at my request as well.

During the last GJW, Saitou had a number of submissions to the writing events, and worked on participating in the ACC events, as well. His example is surely one of those that has an impact on those around him in the Clan. As a past Consul and dedicated member, Saitou understands what it takes to help motivate both the newer members and veterans alike, and he does so with active IRC presence, and friendship offered to everyone.

Saitou took it upon himself to train Kazarelth and help him advance to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. Saitou was truly a great influence on Kazarelth, and continues to remain so. With Saitou's efforts and his ability to shape others, he impressed me to the point that I asked him to transfer to Cestus to help Karel, Kazarelth and Sato restart that House, and I have not been disappointed in him thus far. His efforts and beneficial presence within the House and Clan showed the body of Tarentae that it was indeed time to honor him with the highest reward we couold assure him, and Saitou was named one of the Tarentae.

Saitou is a leader, no matter what position he holds, or even when he lacks a position. He is a source of competition, a source of learning and mentorship, and perhaps one of the better friends anyone in the Clan or Brotherhood as a whole can make. I think Saitou's efforts have earned him much more than this simple Cross, and I hope everyone knows, Saitou is one of those toeing the line to become an Elder, waiting only for the recognition of the Grand Master to pass beyond his current rank.

Thank you, Saitou, for allt hat you continue to do.

Primary reason

Saitou has truly shown his dedication to Tarentum through the Rite of Supremacy. Not only did he submit to the fiction events ("Free Form" and "Infinities") against IHR and CSP and CP, but he also worked extensively in ACC battles in the second round during the knock-out bracket, winning his battles. But his work is not just participation, but also involving himself as an editor and a mentor for those who needed assistance on their own fiction entries. He did a vast amount of proofreading for Tarentum's fiction submissions, which strengthened their caliber and assisted the clan in placing. The clan would like to reward Saitou for his contributions with this Grand Cross of the Dark Side. Thank you, Saitou.
