Aeternus is physically fit and well trained. Years of fighting from the front lines has honed his body, and the time he has spent commanding armies has not dulled his skills. His body has several large scars from various encounters, which are often out of sight, covered by either armor or robes. When they are shown, for whatever reason, only the most uninitiated can tell from the dispersal of the scars that Aeternus is not one to turn away from trouble: most scars are on his front, with only a minority on his back.
Usually, his face is covered by either a helmet or shadowed by his robes. When it is shown, however, it does not appear very remarkable. Short brown hair covers his head, and brown, intelligent, eyes center a face that is not known to smile a lot.
When Darth Aeternus does things, he makes sure everything is done correctly, no matter how long it takes. This means there are frequent delays in Darth Aeternus's work, but it's usually done right, at least.
Through a combination of preparing, studying, and analyzing, Darth Aeternus creates detailed battle plans and tries to think two steps ahead of the enemy. At times, however, this can lead to Darth Aeternus creating complicated schemes that can baffle less intelligent subordinates.
Darth Aeternus tells it like he sees it, when he thinks it; and he doesn't try to sugar coat what he says.
While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Darth Aeternus's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. He becomes focused and quiet, with his smile replaced with a look of grim determination.
Darth Aeternus is utterly devoted to success in combat, no matter the mission, no matter the cost. He has spent his life building himself in the image of war, utilizing a dogmatic regimen that has lead him to a single-minded obsession with military success and requires intense physical and mental training. This training, however, has come at the cost of anything resembling empathy or concern for others - even his superiors and subordinates.
Darth Aeternus doesn't like to kill people; instead he chooses to injure his opponent until that person is unable to fight back or is otherwise incapacitated.
