Despite entering middle age, Kamjin continues to appear 10-15 years younger than his actual age. The copper highlights in his otherwise brown hair just starting to turn gray at his temples. This would be more noticeable if he didn't continue to wear his hair in a military short cut, though allowing for a frontal spike of the hair near his slight widows peak. This allows people to view the short scar on the left side rear of his head. While the years have progressed he maintains a strong physical fitness routine. While he no longer maintains the muscle bulk of his youthful active service days he is still lean and toned. His olive colored eyes squint as someone with advancing eye sight which fits the crows feet around his eyes and his furled brow. He laughs often and his smile is genuine showing the barest of discoloration from years of drinking stim drinks.
While Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz will see a job through to its conclusion and put forward his best effort, it’s still just a job. Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz's true loyalties lie to his friends, and through thick and thin,he will stand by them and die for them if needed. This loyalty is reserved for those who have earned Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz's trust, putting him at odds with other Mercenaries that are only doing a job for the money. This also makes it harder for employers to trust his motives, often times creating extra competition and difficulty finding work. None of it matters to Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz, though, because loyalty to his friends is not something credits can buy.
Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz is devoutly loyal to his House or Clan and will follow orders unquestionably. He would sacrifice his own life to protect his House or Clan from harm. This attitude, however, often clouds his ability to see things from an arbitrary or objective point of view and he can come off as extremely narrow-minded.
People tend to reverently follow Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz’s lead and look up to him in difficult situations. Whether through inspirational behavior, fear and manipulation, or belief and hope for a better future, they think that Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz genuinely believes what he does. This is all a clever facade, however, as Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz is not always as upstanding and respectable as his followers believe. He is no idol, but an opportunist who knows how to manipulate a crowd into bettering his own machinations.
Despite an aversion for physical confrontation, Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz has a quick-witted and sharp sense of humour, and never passes up the opportunity to make a quip or jibe about his situation, or to taunt his enemies. While some find Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz to be funny and likeable, others do not always respond so warmly, and occasionally Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz will get himself into more trouble than he thought when someone takes a joke the wrong way.
Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz seems to get his thrills, perhaps sadistic ones at that, from toying with his opponents. Some are content with simply striking down or injuring their opponent, but that is not enough for Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz. No, he wishes to see his enemy descend into madness or kneel before him as a blathering mess; or even better, as a fresh new servant with a muddled mind. The Puppeteer usually forsakes outright hurting and maiming his opponent and focuses on illusions, mind tricks, and other wicked means of destroying a person.
Sometimes the only way to prepare for the worst is to always expect it. Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz takes this philosophy one step further by never leaving home without accounting for every possible scenario he might expect to encounter. Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz tends to always have the right tool or item for a situation and has a habit of quietly and almost smugly presenting solutions before anyone even recognizes there is a problem. This foresight is far from infallible, however, and he often finds himself at a loss in situations that go beyond what he could have imagined. While incredibly practical and often a life-saver in a pinch, his desire to educate and connect the dots for others to understand why they should have prepared in a similar manner can be perceived as arrogant and condescending; despite this not being his intention.
