Kincaid is apprenticed to Jac Cotelin, former Grand Master of the Brotherhood. The two formed a powerful Force bond with each other on their first meeting, entwining their destinies together. Kincaid's relationship with his master is one of grudging respect, but he is still wary of Cotelin—and believes his master is wary of him as well.

This often comes across as being introverted. In truth, Kincaid believes self-control leads to greater strength than relying on raw emotion. However, some believe this is simply a façade to hide his own weaknesses.

Kincaid may be a savior or a killer... depending on the situation. He is a pragmatist and acts based on cold logic, not petty, emotional responses. If he deems killing a necessity, he will not think twice about ending a dozen lives. He bases his actions on what will best serve him and his goals. Morals and emotions play no part in Kincaid's calculations. All that can be accurately said of him is that he serves his own interests foremost.

This allows for gravity defying feats of acrobatics essential for his style of lightsaber combat. He survives dangerous situations by negating or avoiding attacks, heavily relying on the Force to enhance his reflexes and sharpen his instincts in combat.
