Primary reason

Orv Dessrx is one of the most talented coders in recent years in the Dark Brotherhood. His skill is only surpassed by an altruistic urge to help everyone, no matter the length of the project, and with total disregard for his own reward. In the recent months since he has joined our club, he has done countless scripts, hosted a website for a clan feud, and most importantly, he was the sole programmer of the Outer Rim War 3 battle tracking application. The work he has put into this latter project was simply amazing. With a total time of over 20 hours of coding, Orv's battle tracking application has changed the fate of the Outer Rim War. The competition was suffering greatly from a lack of a competent ranking system, as the spreadsheet and reporting methods were very hard for all the hosts. Orv came up with this system in a week, and it completely changed the course of the competition from then on. His system is complete with live rankings, an easy reporting feature, countless statistics and rankings and so much more, all fully automated. The complaints towards the reporting system stopped after the release of this program, and people could enjoy their gaming without the confusion regarding reporting matches. Even after the system was designed, Orv did not just leave it alone, he continued to improve it, adding more and more administrative, or visual improvements to it.

Orv Dessrx has gone beyond his normal duties, helping the Outer Rim War in a way we could never fully reward him. This medal does not reflect just the DB's gratitude. Each and every other club that participated in the tournament would like to express their thanks to Orv's coding and cooperation. Without his work and dedication, I do not think the war would have even continued pass the third week.

Without Orv, Arcona would not be where it is today. Orv has unquestionably altered the Shadow Clan from a broken facsimile of a clan into a healthy, vibrant atmosphere that will be a driving force next GJW. For his service to the clan, we offer our thanks with this Steel Cross and the promise that should he ever tire of fending off Korean hackers or PHP'ising the site, he has a home with us. - OE Sashar Arconae Orv, both before and even AFTER his ascension to SCL has found the time to create and administer numerous services to Arcona's continued growth, most notably in the form of over ten illustrations made for Arcona's Black Tempest Event, in addition to no less than four character avatars for Arconans. Orv has also contributed to the conception of the cryptogram event and storyline elements not just for the Clan's current Run-On, but for it's ongoing fictional development. The Black Tempest plot would not have been possible without Orv's editorial and feedback, I am proud to be able to show him Arcona's gratitude for everything he's done. Very well deserved, Orv! - Vorion

Primary reason

Orv has repeatedly proven himself a tremendous asset to the ACC as a coder. Over the past few months, he has brought two major aids to the Centre in his capacity as a Seneschal.

First of all, he has created an automatic notifier that gives all Judges summary warnings should there be anything in the queue that they require. This has helped tremendously in preventing delays in the constant battle to keep the ACC's workload manageable.

Second, he has just finished coding up a rather awesome Character Sheet change, allowing people to change their Character Sheets at any time, without major impacts on their active battles.

In addition, Orv has helped us twice at bugfixing. First, when the judging interface suddenly disappeared and made it impossible to Judge or start battles. Second, when any attempt to add to or comment on a battle caused it to lock up and become impossible to read.

Given all of his efforts, it seems only proper to give the SCL some small token of appreciation. Thanks much Orv, you deserve this stuff. <3
