Korroth is a spindly, grey-skinned, inky-eyed, pointy-toothed Pau'an. His slender frame, straight-backed posture, long neck and tall forehead only serve to accentuate his height. No hair grows on his taupe grey skin, instead it is naturally marked by vertical pinstripe furrows. His hands have long fingers with knobbly knuckles and clawed nails.
The Pau'an's bald head is rather bony in appearance, with a prominent brow and chin, thin lips and deep orbits. The nose is the proudest feature - long, sharp and with a high bridge. The pupils of his eyes are completely black, and large enough that the white sclera is normally not visible. His ears are always covered by protective metal ear disks. He speaks with a soft gravelly voice.
Korroth's habitual attire is a white tarelle shirt, a brown tabard with a high collar, dark pants and a black split-tailed kama. A wide green sash binds his waist, and over that is a leather utility belt with a clip for his lightsaber on the right-hand side. He tucks his sleeves into leather bracers on his forearms, and the left one also incorporates his comlink. He dons durasteel-toed field boots. He may also drape a brown hooded all-temperature cloak over his shoulders.
Korroth esteems Clan Odan-Urr as a bastion and advocate of Jedi values. Furthermore, it is the only organisation that stands in open opposition to the Dark Lord of the Sith. Therefore, the Pau’an is always ready to lend his strength to the Clan. Its continued existence, he believes, could only be the will of the Force.
However, his loyalty is to Odan-Urr as an ideal and a unit. He feels little compunction in defying individual leaders if the situation warrants it, and he may not realize when his insubordination brings more harm than good.
Korroth values a serene and detached demeanour in all things. Desire is the father of passion, and passion is the enemy of clear thinking and the bringer of pain. The Pau’an knows this from personal experience—Utapau, Felucia, Antenora, Harakoa—all places and people that pulled a string of his heart, but are now severed from him.
He now fixes his mind on the one eternal, the Force and the totality of life that it represents. Its will is only grasped through tranquility, and this is the state that Korroth strives to achieve. However, he cannot deny his attachment to his Clan and allies; fear of losing them is one thing that could shake his composure.
Korroth is a dour fellow, even a bit phlegmatic. He takes most things with an attitude of reserved gravity, and he is wont to see the touch of grey in every silver lining. Others might see him as a pessimist and a grump, and they may not like him raining on their parade. However, the Pau’an holds no delusions about the dark and divided nature of this universe. He believes that peace in the mundane life is always transient and imperfect. He instead looks forward to the future, when the millennial conflict of Jedi and Sith may finally be resolved, and inwards to the Force, where all life draws its breath.
The Jedi believe in peace, but they are also peace keepers. While the Jedi seek to unite and harmonise life, the Sith strive to divide, unbalance and bring it into conflict, and Korroth believes they must be opposed. In any encounter with a Sith, Korroth will seek to impede, subdue and debilitate, whether in the short term or the long term. He will take a life in extremis, though not without hesitation.
This attitude of prejudice against the Sith means that Korroth will find it difficult to behave with anything but mistrust and enmity towards them, even outside of battle.
All life is bound as one by the Force. Korroth sees this in the vital connections that exist between all beings. When facing a single other individual, in healing or in combat, he will focus his attention on this stream of energy. The Force flows through the mind and body of himself and his counterpart and guides his actions, whether they be healing, Force amplification of his own corporeal energies or slowing those of his enemy.
This attitude entails an awareness of the harmony between the Force and the two beings facing each other. It follows that Korroth’s attention and actions towards the surroundings and any additional individuals are diminished in this state.
Peace is the way of the Jedi. However, Korroth does not lack for motivation in combat. The drive to protect life and aid his Clan in their opposition to the Sith is strong with him. He uses Vaapad to channel this stimulus into the moment of the fight, as an impetus towards victory. When facing a Sith, this drive to prevail becomes only more intense.
Vaapad is all about controlling and guiding one’s ferocity. When fighting, Korroth is constantly aware that one false step could push him into the destructive passions of the dark side.
