Having a strong fascination with the Imperial system growing up and entering the Imperial Academy as soon as he was old enough, Evant Taelyan has become a strong supporter of the system. It has become part of who he is and shaped many of his opinions, often causing disagreements and conflict over the years.

Evant Taelyan is highly intelligent, and has used it to his advantage to climb through the ranks as a military strategist. However, his high levels of creative and innovative thinking have lead to unnecessarily recklessness risks in the past as he opts for the unknown in the name of science to satisfy his curiosity.

While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Evant Taelyan's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. He becomes focused and quiet, with his smile replaced with a look of grim determination.

Evant Taelyan grew protective of his family growing up, and upon entering into a life in the military that same protectiveness transferred to those within his unit. He will often make decisions with their interests in mind above all others, and can be seen as lacking empathy and compassion to others.

A lightsaber and the Force are all that combat training that Evant Taelyan has ever known, having skipped the more traditional military upbringing and thrust to top as a Dark Jedi commander early. This found him frequently on the battlefield as a commander, inspiring and leading his troops with his blade locked with the enemy along side them as a feared presence on the battlefield. This narrow focus has meant that without a lightsaber or a team as weapons, he has little other skills to rely on in battle. As such he has gained an overly protective attitude towards his lightsaber.

Evant Taelyan was trained as part of a team, and has always been part of one, making him in invaluable commander on the battlefield, but limiting his effectiveness alone. He has learned to inspire and use his skills and force powers to increase the effectiveness of a whole team in a way that only a Dark Jedi could, and when part of a team the sum is greater than its parts. Yet can become quickly overwhelmed when alone.
