Activate the Voice News Bomb

Apparently, our local neighbourhood Voice decided to have newspost tourettes this week, and has flooded the news page with updates of the various fictional and fantastical goings on within our fair club this week. First up on the docket is the ongoing search to find Orv's Killer. This competition is actually ending fairly soon (at 7PM on January 31st) so if you're interested in participating in it, get your quills moving!

Next up was an update on the ongoing process to try to revive some tabletop game(s) within the DB. This competition can be found on the DB Site, or you can find more details on it on the forums.

Finally there was another bit of a spotlight on a DB Wide Fiction competition that is pretty near and dear to my own heart. I've long been a proponent of what Brimstone and Plagueis are trying to encourage in this, which is learning how to better write from another person in the DB's point of view. Often times in DB fiction we spend so much time writing our own characters, that we can get stuck in a single writing style and frame of mind. This will be a great learning experience for everyone who enters, with the added lottery chance of learning how godmodey the DB's Grand Masters are.. since we have confirmed that Pravus himself has entered.

More News from the Combat Master

Well, in case you've been hiding under a rock, the DB's Combat Master Telaris "Mav" Cantor (some relation) has been working his ass off lately to get the ACC up and running. You can read in his most recent report about the various cool things happening in the ACC Beta right now, as well as some upcoming opportunities within the Voice and Combat Master's Staffs.

From the sounds of it, the Voice and CM are looking for someone to step up into the position of helping them get a lot of the information being churned up by the ACC onto the Wiki. So if you want a chance at getting a nice lil M:Voice for your ID Line, and are wiki savvy, make sure you email [Log in to view e-mail addresses] and [Log in to view e-mail addresses] to put your name in the hat.

ACC Qualification Challenge

Earlier in the week, Pravus laid down a challenge. This challenge was to get the DB's active and qualified members of the ACC over 50 people. 50 people is a significant portion of everyone who is currently on a roster somewhere in the DB, and in the end? I am extremely proud to say that Taldryan is the one who stepped up and won this challenge (by virtue of ratios).

Along with that, it means that Taldryan has the honour of being the only unit with a specific to them venue in the ACC when it leaves Beta. Keep your eyes peeled for news on the upcoming information concerning this.

Operating at Peak Efficiency: Tribune Updates

Continuing with the news updates, this week saw a couple of news posts from our Wiki and Forum Tribunes, getting us up to date with what is going on on these two important sources of information and communication within the DB. For an update on the forums, check out Socks's report here.

Additionally, with the coding magic and might of James and Orv, Ben was happy to announce that every DB member will soon be able to access the wiki via logging into the Wiki from within their DJB.com account. You can read details about that here.

Keeping Up with the Wardens

Just wanted to share a little news that the Battle Team Leader of the Wardens Quejo sent out today, about an upcoming competition series that will be starting soon within the team, focusing on participation, skill, and willingness. Even I don't have all the details, but we've been promised fiction, gaming and runon's. Looking forward seeing more details soon Q!

Oh, and word is? Wardens are pushing hard for even more ACC Quals... woo!

RTFR Results, And The Next One

So, the RTFR has returned, and there was a Mack. Hidden within last week's report was a series of Bold & Italicized words that when combined quoted Darth Vader himself: "You're a part of the Rebel Alliance and a Traitor!" Now I realize, he then continued to say "take her away", but shut up. Anyways, congratulations to the winners of the competition, DP Halcyon Taldrya, PRT Deidra, and DJK Nero Inferni.

Tidbits and Twitters

Hey, do you like Star Wars? Yeah, so do I. I spend a crapload of my time perusing Twitter these days, and I'll admit that despite my plans of having my twitter feed be full of a lot of interesting people like the Dalai Lama and such, it's basically ended up being Manchester United, the Chive, and even more Star Wars. So going along with that, I thought I'd share a few cool Star Wars tidbits with you folks.

• First up, if you haven't seen any Steve Thomas related Star Wars Art, you're missing out (and you're welcome), but from the team over at the Knights Archive, it looks like I'll be spending some more money I don't have on some really Epic T-Shirts.
• Hey, who's your favourite Star Wars Character? Did you say Boba Fett? That's because you suck :P Thanks to Tarax for pointing me in the direction of this cool article entitled 5 Reasons Why Han Solo is The Most Realistic Person in Star Wars
