Mornin
Since the initiation of the dual-handedness stuff in the ACC, there has been some confusion as to how that coincides with the split-point policy on weapons (i.e. two weapons in the same custom slot having the skill points split). The split-point thing really came about due to lack of space on the CS for weapons, and evolved into something a bit more retarded (especially considering the custom slots were really only intended for 1 weapon each). Now, however, since JaM3z has incorporated 3 more custom slots (a total of 5) the split-point policy isnt really necessary. So, as of today, the split-point policy of the ACC is rescinded.
This means that; 1) The only individuals who may have a pair of weapons (of the same type) in a single custom slot on the character sheet are those that meet the dual handedness requirements; either by rank, CoG approved fighting skill or the guidance in the CS Guide. 2) The custom slots, apart from the aforementioned, are hereby reverting back to only allowing 1 weapon per slot.
What now? If your CS has gotten through in the passed couple of days (with the new sabre stuff) and relied on the split-point policy, dont worry well get you next time :P If you have current battles in the same situation, dont worry, the judges have been notified and given a date with which to keep using the old policy. If you refuse to update your CS and continue to have new battles, your challenges will be declined in the queue. If this really puts a damper on your characters ability, I am truly sorry. However, I see it this way: no matter how great your character ever becomes the most skill they could ever have had with split-points would be 2.5 (which most of us round down to 2 anyway whats half a point? :P). So, unless you absolutely have to bring those 15 weapons into a battle, shuffle some points :P Despite the to-do of actually posting news about it, this only effects a few people in the ACC (since most adjusted after the dual handedness came out a couple of months ago).
Why? The split-point policy was just a pain to try and assess in a battle. It was one of the many things (I am not ashamed to say) that sounded good at the time but didnt pan out the way it was intended it just made things worse, but I am a big fan of you never know until you try Well, I tried, and it failed suck it up and press on. Theres prolly some more that will come with the input from my secret tell me how much this sucks group that has been unabashedly going through the documentation for me, and I welcome their input.
Finally, I am mulling through the Compendium now and removing the references to split points and fixing the rules. In the future, if you have any issues with a battle judgment, CS approval or whatever, that was based on the split-point policy, please come to me.
Thanks for your time
