One of the issues I wished to address when taking on this new position was trying to streamline all of the competitions that are released monthly, but never seem to get much participation. All leaders know that in many cases it is difficult to get submissions to the more “general” competitions. Along with that, many of these competitions, with the slightest of tweaks, can be used by the entire DB.

That is what this news post is about. You will have already seen DB-wide competition being run by others in Clan’s through my “office”. This was an idea I had brought to all Clan leaders, and most seemed to agree with it.

As such, I urge all leaders within the Clans (from Consul to Battleteam Leader) to submit your competition ideas to be used DB-wide, rather than just for your own group, whatever that may be. There are many benefits to this…

• Ability to reach a wider audience and receive more submissions

• Award higher-level crescents more often

• Offer a wider range of topics to the whole club

• Lessen the load on all other leaders, allowing them to focus directly on the members rather than creating and running competition

• Allow many others the chance to run DB-wide competitions and interact with more members outside of your Clan

These are just some of the benefits. So if you wish to run a competition, and believe the topic lends itself to more than just your Clan/House/BT, feel free to submit the idea to myself, or one of the other DC members. Remember, this could be graphics (Herlad), gaming (Fist) fiction and anything else (Voice).
