Well, I can honestly say I wasn't expecting to put anything out so soon after my last report but... hey, stuff and things! That said, I'd like to thank the interest that the Hall change has garnered thus far. We have had a rather sizeable influx of Cooperative Hall matches since its opening and we can't wait to start judging them!
That's not the purpose of this post, however. It is necessary to announce the departure of one of the more long tenured members on staff. This isn't a fun thing to do as a leader, especially with someone who is so iconic as being the only Judge to have rapped a judgement. On camera to boot. Further on in this report I've outlined what we're looking for in new judge applications.
But stay tuned, 'cause there's a bit more to this post than just that! We also would like to draw attention to a change that has been made towards the wiki presentation of the Antei Combat Center and it's rather lengthy history! Now kick in those spurs, 'cause we gotta get a move on!
As time passes in this club there always comes a time for us, as members, to look at where our priorities lie. For Alaris Jinn that time came around of late. In his role as Proconsul of Taldryan, Alaris has decided that is where his time and efforts should rest. With that in mind he made the decision to step back from the Antei Combat Center and allow someone else to take his place. It's not an easy decision to make and I commend him for it.
Beyond that, I thank him for what he has done. It is so easy to dismiss the effort that goes into being a Judge for the ACC. It may just seem like arbitrarily throwing scores up and hoping they stick, but a lot of effort goes into our work. It is more than just rendering judgement; it is helping members learn and grow. In that regard, I am happy to say that Alaris has been awarded an Anteian Cross for his efforts on staff. At least those that I can quantify.
Thank you so much for your time with us, Alaris, and kick some butt in Taldryan!
Now this... was an undertaking. I have not made a secret of how I feel about what I perceive as the tedium of working on wiki articles. At the same time, I don't like asking of others what I'm not willing to do myself. In comes Korroth with all his shiny splendiferousness. He comes with an idea, and beyond that idea he came with a plan. A plan for implementation. But — and this is of critical importance — he also came with the willingness to do the wiki ground work himself.
How could I refuse such an offer? Especially when I agree with it... and don't have to wiki...
And so it was that Korroth set about, in October of 2016, a severe amount of research. That research resulted in the creation of an actual fictional storyline for the history of the Antei Combat Center. This can be found in the History of the Antei Combat Center wiki page for any and all interested parties. It is our goal not to let this go to the wayside, and it'll be continuously updated as time goes on.
While he was in there, Korroth also proposed listing all the past victors of ACC events. Hey, why not, right? So that resulted in the Antei Combat Center landing page now including a Roll of Champions and the relevant events. Useful stuff!
For his efforts, I was more than honoured to award him with a Grand Cross and I can't wait to see what more wiki work he might take off my hands in the future! I mean, what loftier heights he may reach!
Totally... that's what I meant. You can't prove otherwise!
Obviously, with Alaris' departure, we have a slot to fill. Unlike previously, I am not outright limiting applications to those who have never been an ACC Judge before. However, do know that I will be leaning towards a strong application from a newcomer over an equally strong application from a previous Judge. I want everyone to have the chance to take part and contribute.
For members interested in applying, the following is a list of requirements you'll need to address:
New Judges will go through the same training that all previous judges have:
All applications are to be sent to the Combat Master ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) with the following in their subject: [ACC:J App]
I will be filtering e-mails based on the above, so if you don't want it lost in the aether I recommend using it. Final selection will be made by Monday, February 6th at the latest, with the Combat Master reserving the right to select early. Good luck to all those who apply.
Remember, any questions on ACC mechanics, the CSs, or features, email [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. We do check this email, and often. Best way to get a proper response with all the staff on the same page.

Congrats, Korroth, and thank you for your hard work!
Best to you, Alaris. Thank you for your dedication and time you've put into the ACC!
A grand opportunity for all to learn under an outstanding writer, send your apps in, people!
gratz
Thanks for your hard work, Alaris! Your feedback meant a lot to me while I was still learning the ropes of the ACC.
I realized I may not have been as clear as I could be for those that will just skim to the end. We are currently looking for new applicants to join the ACC Judge staff. The details are outlined near the end of the report.
Do it, guys. The ACC staff is phenomenal. I've learned a ton working with them over the past year and I can't recommend the experience highly enough.
Thanks everyone! I've had a phenomenal time on staff. Seriously apply, friends. It's a great way to hone your own skills as well as help others develop theirs. It's been an extremely rewarding 3 years.
Congrats and thanks to everyone.
