First off, I just want to congratulate everyone on a job well done this Great Jedi War. If you haven't already, go read Atra's news post about the results.
As is standard, now that the Great Jedi War XVI: Transcendence results are out and people have received their juicy novae, crescent, and participation credits, the Shroud Syndicate Market has been opened for members to go buy its exclusive items. The store will remain open for a limited time only, so buy your things before it closes again!
Those of you who do browse the store even to just check stuff out will notice that the faction participant restrictions on the four Rite of Supremacy: Escalation items have been removed. I asked Bubba and Atra if we were cool to remove those restrictions now that it's been a few years. They agreed.
Members will receive up to 2 (two) accessories this go-around, the requirements of which I'll list below. These are based purely on how much you participated in the competition, with a second special accessory being granted to those that put in maximum effort as a little reward for going all out.
These accessories will be fully detailed and released in my next post-GJW report.
All clans will be rewarded credits based on a new vendetta credit formula that will always incorporate member participation as a driving factor for credit rewards, while still taking into account both in-clan member placement and overall clan placement. The disparity between the previous RoS and GJW formulas and resulting credit amounts were too large (around 70 million credits between the last place finishers for both comps), so I pitched a new formula closer aligned to the RoS formula prior to the war that was accepted by Bubba and Atra.
The new formula is as follows:
Clan Placement Credits + (Total DJB Member Participation Points x 10k) + ((Clan Member Participation Points x 5k) + (Clan Member Placement Points +5k))
As has become tradition just like post-war credits, we will also be offering capital ship upgrades rewards to the Clans. Last year I instituted a change to the way these work, reducing the rarity to Legendary to allow us to grow a "pool" of upgrades that will be selectable year after year, meaning clans are able to select an upgrade a second time (if that upgrade has not been selected by another clan prior) or select one they might have wanted last year but was already taken.
I've already emailed the Consuls with their choice options. Each clan will have 72 hours this go to select an upgrade before I choose for them and we move on to the next one in the list.
This year, all clans will be able to work with the Regent Staff on a new starship asset. Clans 1-3rd will be given leeway up to a Cruiser-class vessel, Clans 4th-5th up to a Frigate-class, and Clans 6-7th up to Corvette-class. They can also opt for a batch of custom starfighter squadrons (single design) as an equivalent. I'll be reaching out to the clans separately from the Capital Ship Upgrade Rewards to lay out specific requirements, but the process will be much the same as it was for last year's planetary asset Reward.
As a heads up: we will be conducting a limited test run of Masterwork Possessions/the "crafting" system using the Weapon (Lightsaber) item type. An exact date has yet to be established as there is some final tweaking to be done and a bit more work on associated crafting materials + and James will need to implement the rest of the coding we require him for once we're ready to go, but this is a bit of forewarning on our plans. Members will be able to purchase associated crafting materials, access related lightsaber crafting blueprints, and craft/disassemble their craftable lightsaber items. While it's unlikely any major changes to how it works will be made, we will take member feedback seriously on making minor tweaks to improve the experience.
We'll continue working on the other item types, including member Corvettes (a small teaser for which can be found here), once crafting for lightsabers has launched.
We're conducting this as a bit of a stress-test on how we intend for crafting to work (given this is not a video game and purely site based) the way we've already outlined in previous reports, and will use the opportunity to gather a bit of feedback via a post-alpha test run survey. You'll know the test announcement is imminent when you see a new trophy for the special limited crafting material required to craft items pop up for you.
