Varryn is of average height and build for a middle-aged human. His dark skin contrasts against his silvery-gray hair. His hair is styled with combed, side-swept bangs, as well as a full beard . His left eye is sewn shut after suffering a permanent injury and electing not to get surgery. His remaining right eye is a sharp golden hue. He has dark lines under his eyes, but otherwise has smooth skin that makes him look younger than his age.
Varryn Antillus possesses a cold and completely uncaring demeanour. This will manifest itself in the fact that when push comes to shove, Varryn Antillus will just as soon leave a struggling ally behind rather than put themselves in danger. While this may ensure his survival, it often leaves him as an outcast amongst his peers.
When Varryn Antillus does things, he makes sure everything is done correctly, no matter how long it takes. This means there are frequent delays in Varryn Antillus's work, but it's usually done right, at least.
Varryn Antillus doesn't do anything without first having a plan, and is constantly overheard advising others to always “think through their exits”. Every movement he makes—be it combative, manipulative or otherwise—is premeditated and thought out ahead of time. This foresight often places Varryn Antillus two steps ahead of his peers. However, when plans go awry, Varryn Antillus often has to first backtrack those same two steps to address the present, and that hesitation can often be line between success and failure in the heat of a situation.
The reclusive leader of Capital Enterprises is pragmatic and practical to his core. He does not outwardly project the exuberance and excitement in the Collective's mission and purpose, and is usually seen on a holocomm call or his datapad signing off on every operational movement of the Collective's assets. While Rath is a prodigy in naval and military tactics, Oligard still relies heavily on Varryn's abilities to make the Collective work. This level of job security allows Varryn to speak more bluntly and plainly than anyone else in the Collective. While his outlook on operations can sound rather jaded, he does believe in what Rath is trying to accomplish, and knows that his success will allow Antillusto achieve his true goals of financial dominance.
Varryn Antillus doesn't like to kill people; instead he chooses to injure his opponent until that person is unable to fight back or is otherwise incapacitated.
Sometimes the only way to prepare for the worst is to always expect it. Varryn Antillus takes this philosophy one step further by never leaving home without accounting for every possible scenario he might expect to encounter. Varryn Antillus tends to always have the right tool or item for a situation and has a habit of quietly and almost smugly presenting solutions before anyone even recognizes there is a problem. This foresight is far from infallible, however, and he often finds himself at a loss in situations that go beyond what he could have imagined. While incredibly practical and often a life-saver in a pinch, his perpetually pessimistic outlook on daily life can be a bit draining on more optimistic-inclined companions.
