Lazarus is quite unique in various ways. Straying from the typical green skin tones of his people, his skin is lavender in color. His build is stocky and rotund with an underlying solid musculature. His bald head and face are rather gruff and rugged with a set of black bushy brows that rest above his violet, almost black eyes and his rounded jaw is cleanly shaven. Like other Mirialan's, he possesses tattoos, his art is a geometric eye etched into the center of his forehead with a few accents on either side.
Lazarus's skills as a medic are not just limited to holo-books and lectures. He has read up and practiced a handful of experimental treatments while inventing a few home remedies of his own. This allows Lazarus to work outside the box in less than ideal situations, and can lead to him solving mysteries other trained medics might struggle with. This, of course, comes with its own string of failures, as nothing is ever perfect. That, and some of the more established professionals in the field often doubt or question Lazarus's alternative practices. He typically brushes them off in favor of doing everything he can to help a patient, but does quietly seek recognition for accomplishments as a healer.
Lazarus's life is filled with training and learning for all sorts of situations, from the mind-numbingly normal to the utterly bizarre. As such, Lazarus has developed into a rather resourceful individual. This has made Lazarus a mix of academic and scholar, always with something to offer to any discussion. However, knowledge and training does not always translate well to the tense environment of the battlefield, and no amount of textbooks can prepare one for reality...
Lazarus is a lateral thinker, and when he encounters problems or dilemmas, he is very good at improvising and coming up with alternative solutions. This allows Lazarus to find ways out of situations others might give up on. While these solutions are often not so obvious to others, Lazarus can typically explain and lead others through his plan...as long as they are patient and willing enough to trust him outside thinking.
Lazarus doesn't do anything without first having a plan, and is constantly overheard advising others to always “think through their exits”. Every movement he makes—be it combative, manipulative or otherwise—is premeditated and thought out ahead of time. This foresight often places Lazarus two steps ahead of his peers. However, when plans go awry, Lazarus often has to first backtrack those same two steps to address the present, and that hesitation can often be line between success and failure in the heat of a situation.
When Lazarus gets in trouble, he finds no fault in bravely turning tail and getting the hell out of dodge. Obviously, this means that he tends to survive even the most deadly encounters... but the same can't always be said for his compatriots. This fact hasn't exactly made him the most popular among his peers, but hey, at least Lazarus isn't dead yet.
Lazarus, like most of his peers, has trained with a blaster though, just like any weapon, hates to use it. Instead, when forced to fight, Lazarus will use his surgical scalpels and anesthetics (poisons) to attempt to injure and incapacitate opponents. This requires his to get extremely close to his attackers and leaves him vulnerable to more maritally-inclined fighters and ranged specialists.
