The Lyra Colony Security Force—also known as ''Lyra-Sec''—are a trained group local law enforcement on the Colony. They are made up of a mixture of veteran Severian Principate soldiers creeping closer to retirement to fresh rookie recruits from the local systems.

When Severian Ground Trooper does things, he makes sure everything is done correctly, no matter how long it takes. This means there are frequent delays in Severian Ground Trooper's work, but it's usually done right, at least.

Severian Ground Trooper tells it like he sees it, when he thinks it; and he doesn't try to sugar coat what he says.

Severian Ground Trooper has a military background, and draws upon his experience to tackle the obstacles in his life. This makes him decisive, efficient, and fearless; provides him with a strong sense of duty and strength; which tends to influence his ability to fight and lead. However, a rigid mind is less compassionate towards individuals and less imaginative, and Severian Ground Trooper sometimes risks appearing callous, relatable, or incapable of compromising.

Severian Ground Trooper is utterly devoted to success in combat, no matter the mission, no matter the cost. He has spent his life building himself in the image of war, utilizing a dogmatic regimen that has lead him to a single-minded obsession with military success and requires intense physical and mental training. This training, however, has come at the cost of anything resembling empathy or concern for others - even his superiors and subordinates.

Severian Ground Trooper has been trained in both Lethal and Non-Lethal methods of take-downs as well as other common combat situations and scenarios. While this makes them well rounded as officers, they lack any advanced or specialized training for situations or encounters outside their control.
