At one point in time, Ria'd Stesca believed that Jedi could co-exist amongst users of the dark side of the Force. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case.

Ria'd thoroughly believes that the only way to save the galaxy is to eradicate the Sith and those who use the dark side and its teachings. It's a mission he has undertaken and aims to see through to its conclusion. However, there are many, especially amongst fellow Jedi that do not share this aggressive philosophy, leaving Ria'd often isolated amongst his peers.

Ria'd Stesca is driven by an unsatisfied urge to discover just who he is and where he came from. He was an orphaned child before becoming a Jedi, and the most he knows is he was born on Dathomir, a member of the Nightsister cult until he was rescued as an infant by the Jedi.

This need for gratification at times can often be distracting for the young man, especially when it can interrupt his duties.

Ria'd Stesca rarely ever talks unless he needs too. Instead, he prefers a more level-headed approach to most situations he encounters.

Whereas some prefer to think on their feet and use their emotions, Ria'd Stesca prefers to plan ahead and think long term. When he does speak, he usually gets straight to the point and does not beat around the bush. He's more refined in both his manners and the way he carries himself, rather than rough around the edges.

However, this has run the risk of having others consider him unemotional, which is far from the case.

Ria'd Stesca has taken the teachings of the Jedi Code to heart.

He attempts to keep a control of his emotions few Jedi could only ever dream of having. Ria'd tries to ignore those very feelings to the point that he is seen by many as the typical embodiment of a stoic Jedi, believing that giving into his emotions will steer him down the path to the dark side.

Although, deep down, those who know him best know that Ria'd is in reality very emotional. He isn't devoid of feeling, but if he keeps those feelings bottled up, then when he is put under too much pressure, those emotions can explode, at which point he lashes out at friend and foe alike. Which can lead to him becoming isolated.

Ria'd Stesca is rarely one for flashy displays of the Force. Instead, he prefers a straight up one-on-one duel, where skill with both his proficiency in Teras Kasi and his lightsaber come to the forefront.

This is why Ria'd is particularly fond of the Suppression Force Power, and he uses it without haste against enemies that wield the Force in order to make them fight on his terms. Especiay against Sith, whom Ria'd takes a great deal of pleasure in taking away their connection to the Force.

However, not every opponent is affected by Suppression. Ria'd can find himself struggling against those who weild ranged weaponry and can keep their distance from him. Especially those without the Force.

Secretly, deep down, Ria'd loves the thrill of the duel. The satisfaction of outclassing his opponent, the clashing of sabers, the back and forth between parry, deflect, dodge and strike. It always brings a smile to his face and gets his blood pumping.

As such, through intense dedication to Form II, Makashi, Ria'd has turned his bladework into something of a work of art.

In one on one confrontation, he is able to analyse his enemy and then pick apart their fighting style with aggressive, yet light jabs, cuts and scrapes until he finds an opening in their defences, then dispatches them efficiently with a lethal strike.

However this emphasis on one on one confrontation means he has very little in the name of options when it comes to dealing with a number of adversaries all at once. He can quickly become overwhelmed should this happen.
