A wholesome looking young man with a roguish smile. Jim Nova has a thick build and pale skin that is attributed to the majority of his time being spent in space-stations and star craft. Very average, unlike many galactic citizens, Nova is your typical human with no truly distinguishing marks or scars. He has brown hair which is slightly longer on top than the shorter sides, with sideburns that stop in line with his earlobes. His wide and slightly rounded face is cleanly shaven, and his lips are thick and perfectly defined just above his rounded jawline. His almond-colored eyes are warm and caring and he is typically described as being handsome but normal.
Jim Nova always seems to underestimate the gravity of important situations or the difficulty of tasks by about a mile or ten.Jim Nova is a bit of a slacker, never really thinking things all the way through - and it usually comes back to bite him in a wildly comedic way. However, he also tends to not be deterred from things that would often scare others away.
Jim Nova somehow always finds himself in tricky situations that put him in over his head. As such, Jim Nova always seems to be digging himself out of some kind of dilemma. While this speaks to Jim Nova’s ability to think outside the box to find solutions, his moral code often gets in the way of taking the easy way out.
Jim Nova has a knack for making heroic entrances whenever possible. This is actually something he works at, and one of these days, he might just be a little too late.
Despite an aversion for physical confrontation, Jim Nova has a quick-witted and sharp sense of humour, and never passes up the opportunity to make a quip or jibe about his situation, or to taunt his enemies. While some find Jim Nova to be funny and likeable, others do not always respond so warmly, and occasionally Jim Nova will get himself into more trouble than he thought when someone takes a joke the wrong way.
When Jim Nova gets in trouble, he finds no fault in bravely turning tail and getting the hell out of dodge. Obviously, this means that he tends to survive even the most deadly encounters... but the same can't always be said for his compatriots. This fact hasn't exactly made him the most popular among his peers, but hey, at least Jim Nova isn't dead yet.
When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Jim Nova? Jim Nova doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Jim Nova, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Jim Nova isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Jim Nova won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Jim Nova will still be winning, the best and most dirty way he knows how.
