I hope everyone had an excellent May the 4th. Today, I am pleased to make two important announcements regarding the Dark Council, including welcoming our new Headmaster.
As we touched on last month, Daniel "Seraphol" Stephens, our Headmaster, is stepping down. Sera has shepherded the Shadow Academy for almost two years, and in addition to numerous new courses and audits, he oversaw the fictional development and transition of the Shadow Academy Society in a new direction towards archaeology and treasure-hunting. Sera's attitude was always upbeat and he provided thoughtful feedback as an advisor on the Dark Council, and so I will miss his presence in our discussions. But Sera rightly felt it was time for someone new to lead the Shadow Academy, and with a War approaching soon, it was important we make the right choice to replace him.
And so our search for a new leader of the Shadow Academy took place over the last couple of weeks. Ultimately, due to her excellent application, ideas, and experience, we decided on the current Praetor to the Headmaster, Ciara Tearnan Rothwell Tarentae, as our new Headmistress! Ciara has been an exceptional Praetor, and she has served in a variety of leadership positions throughout her career in the Brotherhood. We look forward to working with her to develop the Shadow Academy and its role in improving the membership experience for new and veteran members alike. Please join me in congratulating Ciara!
The Covenant requires a biennial reconfirmation of a sitting Justicar, and the Electorate's vote concluded yesterday. Our Justicar has received a unanimous reconfirmation! Dacien, aka Bubba, has been an incredible member of the Dark Council and has served in a capacity well beyond running the Chamber of Justice alone, stepping up when various Councilors have had temporary real life issues, so we are glad to have him remain with us as Justicar.

Now, years after I was the first female Headmaster, Ciara is the second female Headmaster.
