SWTOR 7.0 ‘Disorder’ Expansion Now Live!

The expansion has finally dropped and it came with a lot of changes as well as additions. First, I would advise checking out this link to view the cinematic trailer for what has been called ‘Disorder’. I’ve personally played through the expansion and will be going over all of them with my findings so far. Let’s start with the additions!

  • New Storyline: The war between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire spreads to new worlds! Dangerous threats rise in the dark corners of the galaxy and Darth Malgus pursues an unknown plan… Unravel these mysteries and more as your choices continue to shape the galaxy.

    • It was an enjoyable story but not as long as I wanted it to be. The cinematics were of course very beautiful, as always. I think it has replay value.
  • Manaan: The Sith Empire has invaded Manaan to seize its abundance of kolto, a vital medical resource on all sides of the war. Battle through underwater facilities for control of the planet with separate Imperial and Republic storylines.

    • This brought back so many good memories. Finally, we return to Manaan! This was some great content and I highly suggest playing through the planet.
  • Elom: The story continues on the planet Elom with the discovery of a ruined Sith fortress that was mysteriously erased from all records. Rumors persist that Darth Malgus--on the hunt for ancient relics throughout the galaxy--may have found something critical to the future of the Jedi and the Sith. This new storyline will be available both as a solo experience as well as a multiplayer Flashpoint!

    • This is a great addition to the flashpoints in the game. I personally really liked the scenery and Darth Malgus was awesome. The lore building can be really nice in the game sometimes and this was one of those moments.
  • Galactic Seasons 2 - ‘Shadows of the Underworld’: The second season of Galactic Seasons, ‘Shadow of the Underworld,’ starts with the launch of Legacy of the Sith. Earn new and exciting rewards by completing Seasonal Daily and Weekly Objectives. More information here.

    • I can’t say more good things about this. It’s a great way to be resources and rewards in the game. In addition, subscribers should not miss out on this. The rewards are just too damn good.
  • Combat Styles: Players have more options to personalize their characters by choosing a Combat Style separate from their Origin Story! More information here.

    • This is a cool feature and I definitely find the combat style switching very useful. Not a deal-breaker if you can only have 1 combat style, but a nice addition to the game.
  • Itemization revamps: We’ve made changes to the itemization system to offer players new experiences and ways to obtain gear. These changes ensure that players have the gear they need to play the content they want and that they can grow their power over time. More information here.

    • I’m still getting smart on this but I think overall it was a good change. You no longer have to hunt down set bonuses. You no longer need to spin the RNG wheel to hope you get the right gear. Just buy it now. Overall a nice change.
  • Legendary Items: Experience a new way to customize your character’s play style with legendary items! These new items replace Amplifiers and set bonuses for greater customization of the bonuses you receive. More information here.

    • I’m still getting smart on this as well. Here is what I know so far. The key thing to note is you upgrade the legendary item, not the armor set.
  • Increased Level Cap: The level cap has increased to 80 for all subscribers in Legacy of the Sith.

    • Level 80 is nice. If you are below 80, prioritize getting up there first and then doing other content. The good stuff won’t drop till 80!
  • Improved Player Experience: Enjoy a smoother overall player experience through several improvements, including an updated character creation journey and new looks for the character sheet, inventory, and much more!

    • This is hard to quantify but generally I like the new user interface look and flow.
  • Loadouts: This new interface allows you to create pre-sets for your gear, weapons, appearance, abilities, and quickbars to easily switch between different playstyles for different situations.

    • The loadouts have a lot of promise to make your life a lot easier. I haven’t played with them a whole lot yet due to a bug that wipes your power bars when you switch but the loadout functionality will definitely come in handy.

Next, I’d like to comment on a few things I’ve noticed since I’ve started playing the expansions:

  • Conquest takes longer to obtain. There are still some ways to get conquest fast but it's not as fast as before. Put aside some extra time to make conquest for a toon. In a pinch, one of the log-in rewards eventually is a conquest token, which gives you instant conquest!
  • Enemies seem to hit harder with less effective companion healing. I notice this mostly on planets. There might be a number of reasons for that but just be careful how many bad guys you pull at once.
  • Some veteran flashpoints are easier. The enemies just die quicker. It’s a feeling shared by others much smarter than me in the game but a feeling. Your mileage may vary.
  • Old toon move rotations (order of buttons you click), still mostly seem to work. So if you don’t know what buttons to use, it's okay to use an old 6.0 guide as a base! You can make minor edits from there and the bones are still probably solid. 6.0 guides can be found here.
  • Gear sets are pointless now. Just sell them once you no longer need them, unless you like how they look.
  • Quests have timers now! Like heroics, GSFs, etc… So watch out for timers. Your partial progress won’t carry over from one week to the next.
  • Credits flow less freely but you can still earn plenty.
  • Galactic Starfighter weekly quest is now easier to complete!! Finally.

That’s my list for now. I’ll add to it as I find out more. If you have something to add to this list that helps the group, reach out to me and I’ll add it! Finally, I have some new 7.0 competitions out for you all to play with!

[New Initiative] Guild Officers: Volunteers wanted!

Do you like to pull together groups to play video games together? Would you like to help our guild? If the answer is yes, I have a great opportunity for you. How would you like to be a guild officer?

Guild officers serve a variety of roles. But for our guild specifically, I’m looking for people who are willing to help pull together groups to play SWTOR together and lead group content. Key duties include:

  • Host SWTOR group runs
  • Lead group content runs
  • Encourage your fellow clanmates to play SWTOR together

It’s a simple and hard task but it can be very rewarding. I encourage you to consider volunteering. This club is all about hanging out with each other and this is a great opportunity to help do just that. :)

If you are interested, please email me or give me a dm on discord.

SWTOR Other News

In addition to the 7.0 expansion, there are a number of events going on and some nice opportunities here. Details on all the below can be found here.

  • Ten-Year Anniversary: As part of the celebration, the “Anniversary Personnel” Vendor will be available on the Fleet until January 2023. Their inventory has been updated to include new rewards and the Best View of SWTOR contest decorations.

  • We have the ‘Pirate Incursion’ going till March 1st: this event has the republic and empire facing off once more on the pastoral world of Dantooine. You can earn some mounts, pets, companions, armor sets, decorations, etc…

  • Galactic Seasons 2 (Several months-long): Another season has been released for SWTOR. This one is called “Shadows of the Underworld” and features Fen Zeil in his quest to remake the underworld. You get him as a new companion and get an opportunity to earn a lot of great stuff. The included link also includes tasks for the weekly and daily tasks associated with the event! It’s the best way to get a lot of hard-to-get stuff.

  • Legacy of the Sith: Digital Collector’s Edition available if you want it! It has 30 days of subscription time, 2400 Cartel Coins, Malgus’s Command Chamber Mount, Darth Vindican’s Dualsaber, and the MD-CH1 Droid Minipet.

  • New Cartel Market Additions to include a baby yoda carrier pet!

SWTOR Competition Highlights

In order to help achieve a better SWTOR community, I’ll be putting out regular SWTOR competitions designed to get you all playing together. Some will be new ideas and some will be old ones but they will all encourage group camaraderie. I call a SWTOR Bonanza and we are currently in our first bonanza. In December, we had some great group entries, which I’ll show off very shortly I promise. January offers similar opportunities. For your convenience, I’ve put together a short review of them below.

  • [FIST] February Conquest: Straight conquest competition. Ends 2/28/2022!!

  • [FIST] SWTOR 7.0:With Our Powers Combined!: Ever dream of your SWTOR toon having two different class abilities at once. Now’s your chance! Take a fun picture of your toon sporting 2 combat styles at once.

  • [FIST] SWTOR 7.0: Galactic Seasons 2 Sprint: SWTOR has released a new galactic season. This is a months-long event where you play the game through a variety of weekly and daily tasks given to you and in return you get a lot of really cool prizes, especially if you are subscribed. But the prizes for free to play are still good as well. Simply try to level up in the season as much as possible for the duration of the competition.

Lastly, for those sharp-eyed competition watchers, you may have noticed I haven’t mentioned one competition, mainly the one for the new flashpoint. A bug affecting some of the player base is still very much an issue. It appeared as if it was fixed and then it wasn’t. As such, the competition for this flashpoint will be pulled for now and rerun once the bug is fixed! Apologies for the inconvenience.

In addition, I’d like to spotlight some great group entries from the latest SWTOR group card competition. Everyone had a lot of fun putting these together. :)

In first place, we have a wonderful group gathering after a hard day of running around the galaxy. Tahiri had a great entry.

first

In second place, we have a shot reminiscent of the ending of Episode 3 when the Dark Lords stared out in space. Great group shot as well from Ric Tater.

second

In third place, we have a musical-themed aftermath from Creon that included some fun additions.

Current Guild Targets

Every Tuesday, I set the guild conquests for the week. When the guild conquest is achieved, you get to choose a reward in addition to your personal conquest. When that time comes, please choose the ‘Flagship Plans: Command Encryption’. I am currently collecting them to unlock the Forward Command Room. This request applies to both the official imperial guild and the unofficial republic guild. Once we have collected 250 of them, we can unlock some added guild benefits.

If you don’t know how to do this yet, here are some screenshots to help you out. Press ‘I’ and then click on the materials tab on the left tab. It will look like a diamond.

div

Then scroll down to ‘Miscellaneous items’ and you will see ‘Flagship Plans: Command Encryption’. You can drag them to your main inventory.

div

Finally, go to the purple guild bank (we have one on the guild flagship and there is always the one on the fleet), and deposit them in the ‘Missions/Mods’ tab. If you can’t access the guild bank, let me know.

div

Hope this helps! Lastly, if you have lots of spare credits on hand and nowhere to put them, donations to the guild are always welcome.

Conquest Raffle Prize Spotlight

For those that achieve 100K conquest points for a week for the guild, you get up to 3 entries in a raffle to win a prize that you can pick from the guild bank. It is my pleasure to share some of the awards handed out so far. :)

First, we have Ood Bnar in their“Honored Master's Vestments (outfit top)”.

div

Second, we have Dratt with their new WL-29 Blaster.

div

I’ll spotlight some more next report but when you pick out a reward if you want yours to be spotlighted just send me a picture of you using it!

That said, here are our SWTOR Raffle winners so far!

  • 01/11/22: Solas Night-thorn
  • 01/18/22: Dratt
  • 01/25/22: Korvis
  • 02/01/22: Ric Hunter
  • 02/08/22: Korvis
  • 02/15/22: Silent

A huge congrats to each and every one of you. I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into the guild so far. Well done!

SWTOR Resources

I’d like to spotlight our discord SWTOR News Feed. It’s a thread we have set up under gaming chat where you can find and share SWTOR news with each other. Many of you have already done so and we have a nice batch of information already as it pertains to the new SWTOR expansion, tips to get ready for it, class guides for optimal builds, etc… If you are interested in SWTOR and haven’t joined the thread yet, I highly encourage that you do so. If you know someone who likes SWTOR and hasn’t joined it yet, share with them the thread so they can join as well.

div

Ask the T:SWTOR

Korvis asks: What are the plans, if any, for the growth of the Guild both inside the Brotherhood and outside?

Aura: The plans for growth inside and outside the Brotherhood are still the same as outlined in my previous report. The heart of it though is to get more people used to the rhythm of playing together more regularly. One tool I want to use to help achieve that are guild officers, which I am currently accepting volunteers for. :)

Last Thoughts

I hope that you try out the new 7.0 Expansion. I’ve been playing it a lot and it's fun. Also, remember to have fun and try your best to play SWTOR with others. The shenanigans are priceless and will stick with you for a very long time as bright spots in the game. Also, feel free to send me group gaming shots. I’d love to use them in my reports. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to email or dm me on discord. Happy gaming!
