Celebration 2015 is Just Around the Corner!

Celebrate!

So we're getting close to that crunch time right before what is perhaps going to be the most important convention in years... Celebration 2015! Now, I don't know about the rest of you all, but I was actually researching last minute flights and plans to see if I could get myself down there this year, because everything that's been coming up in the lead up has me as excited as all hell. Thankfully, my bosses seemed to think I was joking about taking a week's vacation on two days notice so I didn't randomly drop a few grand on a whim.

The bright side about all that is... I'm still going to be able to get to watch 30 plus hours of Star Wars Celebration, with some of the most exciting panels like the Force Awakens panel are confirmed to be amongst them. We have a few members from the Brotherhood attending the Con, and I've been promised a few events by those fine gentlemen, and I'm hoping everyone will pay special attention to our social media accounts, especially at twitter and facebook where we'll be getting live news and updates from our team on the ground.

Something else that just broke today, and I know our guys at Celebration will be scouting for was news that Battlefront will be coming to Xbox One FIRST. Whether there's a significant delay before it hits other platforms or not is still up for debate, but as someone who's hoping to hop into PC play asap, I hope it won't be too long before cross-platform happens.

Stay tuned for more Star Wars Celebration news in the coming days on the front page and on social media!

Just The Seal

I, myself, will not be able to attend and will be following twitter and facebook, religiously. But I do have some RL friends that will be there displaying their 3D printer-made R2-D2 there, and I gave them a look at the business card and t-shirt design so they know what to look for.

Awesome links and info for all our members who won't be able to make it to Anaheim! Thanks for sharing this Yacks.

For folks out there who may not have been following the list of the panels all too closely, there is one or two I'd like to highlight that I think alot of members would enjoy. I'm going to focus on Friday evening and Saturday, because work:

  • Friday 1030-1130 (PST): Battlefront? This still isn't confirmed in my Celebration App as occuring, but based on the internet we should be getting a look at Battlefront 3 here.
  • Friday 1530-1730 (PST): Celebration Cosplay Contest Because who doesn't want to see tons of people dressed up like Star Wars characters?
  • Friday 1830-2400 (PST): Ian McDiarmid introduces the Premiere of Episode 3 in 3D I doubt the whole thing is going to get streamed, but hopefully the intro makes it?
  • Friday 1900-2000 (PST): Anthony Daniels: Inside the Heart & Chaos of C-3PO For after Ian McDiarmid finishes his intro.
  • Saturday 1200-1300 (PST): From World Wars to Star Wars Blogger & Historian Cole Horton explorers the wartime exploits of Peter Cushing and reveals how WW2 built the Death Star, and other bizarre WW2 super weapons. Could be cool?
  • Saturday 1830-1930 (PST): John Jackson Miller: Rule the Galaxy Together: Writing in a Shared Universe. New York Times bestselling author offers pointers to writings looking to write in a shared story universe. Discussion includes turning continuity problems into springboards, and best practices for preserving future story opportunities for others. I'm really excited to hear what this guy has to say.

Good stuff. I'm excited about the new Battlefront video.

Woah, not happy about the news regarding battlefront being xbone only at release. That is alarming. Consoles are terrible at fps.

From what I read in the linked article the author seems to think it may be refering to EA access which is an XBone eclusive thing EA has that lets subscribers get earaly releases and exclusive access to betas and the like.

Battlefront hitting XB1 first is only via EA Access. With any new releases, they have been available a week early with about 10 hours of play time on Access. Once the play time is over, you have to wait for launch to play. So PC, and PS4 players will have same release time as XB1. Just anyone paying extra for Access, will get to play a little early and have already downloaded and installed to their machine. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/star-wars-battlefront-playable-first-on-xbox-one-t/1100-6426607/

Phew, that's a relief. I was worried.

I have an Xbox One but...don't think I'll get Access just for one week. Already spending too much on DLC.

Super excited about the live streams. I know how I'll spend my Thursday work day!

Ceiling Aabs is watching Sarin celebrate?

I be snoopin'
